What Games Actually Need/Deserve a Remake?

Personally don't think any game should get remade or a remaster within 10 years of it's original release.
Now possibly even longer considering how far we've come in terms of tech. Basically nothing Released from Xbox One/PS4 should be getting anything for maybe 15 years at least.

But for me these games deserve a remake...

Burnout 3 Takedown (released 2004) - easily the best in the series and also one of the best racing games ever made. Crazy that EA haven't already done this but have the massively inferior Burnout Paradise.



Jet Set Radio Future (Released 2002)

Beautiful, crazy OST and just damn good fun. Hi-Fi Rush has got me even more bummed they had to pull this from the final BC list literally hours before it went live. Sadly due to the soundtrack.



Shenmue 1 and 2 (Released 1999 and 2001)

Yes we had a bare bones remake but I'm talking this version



A proper remake that massively improved the originals look.

Comic Zone (released 1995)



Fighters Megamix (1996)
Still one of my favourite fighting games

I only played Jet Set Radio out of all those. But I would never play a remaster as I didn’t care for it.

I would like a remake of Rainbow Six 3 and Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike.

The decision will be based on the game's popularity, potential to sell and studios/company that owns it.

Having said that, personally, I would not mind a FF 8, 9, 10 remake the way FF7 remake was made. Slight update/change to the story with updated mechanics. Also a Chrono Trigger remake since I've never played it. A proper remake for Fatal Frame games with modern visuals and audio, not just Switch or Wii straight ports.
 
This is not a super iconic game like FF or others mentioned, but it was a fun arcade hit in it's time and maybe still has some nostalgia value.

I think it could potentially be redone as a hyper violent VR game. Include Multiplayer, but I'd prefer it remain CO-OP and keep the map straightforward Arenas; don't make it an exploration campaign.

If supporting MP CO-OP, I think adding Character Classes could add some fun variety to it.

Sprinkle in subtle social consumerism humor as it's a Game Show.

Didn't TeamXbox have a member of the team regularly posting about attempts to get this remade? Or was it just a big fan of the game?

Well, KOTOR and splinter cell getting proper remakes, jade empire would be great, hasn't aged very well.

Saga would be great but literally a never going to happen IMO. Sega claim the source code was lost and I doubt they will put the money up to start from scratch which is a real shame.
Still have my copy.

I can't believe I forgot the Bad Company games! lol. Those need to be remade for sure.
 
Lost Odyssey is like a cult hit on 360. I never played it, but apparently, it was well-received.

Nevertheless, why remake instead of a sequel?

Because the original developer, Mistwalker, can't be bothered to do anything on console anymore. They're exclusively Android/IOS developers now and have been for 11 years. And MS blatantly doesn't have a 1st party JRPG studio or a 3rd party one to farm the IP out to.

Yup exactly that, and the game director (FF creator) said he just doesn't want to work with a big team anymore after their last Wii game.
