What movies have you seen recently?

I watched some newer movies recently. Knives Out was a great murder mystery film we don’t get ones this good enough. Great cast. It’s on Amazon Prime. Then I watched Ford vs Ferrari thought it was really damn good would like to watch it again. It’s on HBO streaming services.
If you like Ford v Ferrari you might like Rush.

I watched this a couple weeks ago on Hulu. It's been a while since I've seen an original comedy that doesn't suck as a movie. It was supposed to be released in theaters, but for dumped to Hulu because of COVID.

I say original lightly, as it's a modern Groundhog's Day with some really great plot twists, and is actually pretty hilarious at times, and has some unexpected serious moments mixed in.

Ahh yes I've been meaning to look this movie up, I love Andy Samberg in Brooklyn 99 and heard this was a decent movie too.

Finally watched Ad Astra and was very disappointed like many others. Seems like it had potential that just never materialized.
I thought it was just ok. I'm a big sci fi guy, so it's hard for me to not like a movie like this, but it just felt hollow and dull.

The whole moon rover thing seemed completely absurd. You're taking VIPs across the surface of the moon into hostile territory, you've managed to build bases on the moon and Mars, but you don't have anything better than a lunar golf cart to send them in?

None of it really added up in the end. It was a great setup with no delivery.

I enjoy Ad Astra love the world building. It looks great in 4K on my set. I’m a huge sci fi fan so I can look past a couple of its faults.

I finally watched Us, and man, I really liked the movie. Picked up the Blu-ray from the library, and I really enjoyed the extras. There was definately a lot of careful thought that went into the movie, and a lot of subversive subjects thrown in for good measure. Jordan Peele has become quite the genre film maker... If only he would have put half of this attention into Twilight Zone...

Motherless Brooklyn - I forgot to post my thoughts on this film after I finished it earlier this week. Edward Norton may be an a**hole off screen but I thought he did a damn good job writing, directing, and starring in this film. They really brought 1950’s NYC alive. Has a great supporting cast and his condition in the film makes for some humorous moments. I recommend give it a shot. It’s on HBO/ HBO Max.
