What movies have you seen recently?

8.5/10, simply cannot stop watching this movie. It's my new Grease and were it not for the nostalgia I honestly think I'd give it higher marks than Grease (which I think is a solid 10/10)

Evil Dead (remake) - 8/10 for a horror film it does its job well. I felt uneasy through a lot of the scenes. And my wife stopped watching it 30 mins in. Most horror films i lose intrest quick.

The Last Stand - 7/10 fun action ride. Better than most dumb fun action movies now days.

The Good, The Bad, and The Weird.

Wild
Awesome movie is awesome as f***.

It is terrible though. How do movies like this get funding ? I mean who ever read the script must have known it sounded bad.
Everything about the movie was utterly s***, the setting, the props, EVERYTHING. The story was just omg. My niece can come up with a better movie script and she's 3 now.

Idiocracy - 6/10
That movie was an easy 10/10 for me. I kept finding humor packed in every scene. Even little posters that are only in the movie for half a second, when I paused to observe them, got more of a chuckle out of me than the entirety of the first two Hangover movies.

My kids watched After Earth and hated it. I came in at one point and they were thumbing their phones, bored as hell. "Where is all the action?" they asked me, rather accusingly I might add.

World War Z was solid. Nothing like the book or the first draft that I read however many years ago. My kids liked it.

I also saw the Evil Dead remake and pretty much hated it. It was just gross and stupid and no fun at all. Whenever they had to the choice between scary, funny or gory, they always chose gory. Bleh. The best thing about it is that it basically reset the clock on the humor and relevance of Cabin In The Woods.

This is the End. Awesome for the first half, stupid and circle-jerky for the second half, and then awesome again for the last 5 minutes.

Scary Movie 5 - facepalm/10

Terrible. I only got about 20-30 mins in and turned it off. That opening scene was obvious give away of how bad it would be.

Memories of Murder 9.5/10

No matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old.

Literally just watched this for the first time, weird. I liked it a lot but it didn't blow me away. That said I did watch John Wayne play Genghis Khan in The Conqueror just before it and that's a hard act to follow...

I second that, Idiocracy was a great movie.

God that "warriors, come out and playeeeeay" thing got so old for me.

Used to run an Unreal 2K4 server with the TAM mod and EVERYONE that played there, when they got the enemy team down to one person, would start playing the sound clip.

But as far as the movie itself? I can dig it!

 I can feel you on that one, that would get old quick. I just posted it cause its easily the first thing peeps think of from the movie.

There will be blood - 9/10.
Daniel Day Lewis character was brilliant. There was something about Eli that made me chuckle at every scene he's in. I think it's his behavior as a preacher that gets to me.

I have seen a trailer for a remake of Korean classic Oldboy. Comes out in November. I'm not a fan of American remakes of far eastern movies however looks not too bad from what I have seen.

Honestly, I thought it looked pretty bad in comparison to the original, but interesting enough to watch on its own merits. Plus I'm a Josh Brolin fan, and I'm curious to see if Elizabeth Olsen Can give another Martha M M Marlene performance.

V/H/S - watched this the other day on Netflix. Not sure what to rate it. Its decent. Some videos are more intresting than others.

Will rent part 2 when i get a chance.

Watched Lincoln on Showtime this weekend. Was really good.

She was so great in that.

I saw "The Family" on Friday with some friends. I really enjoyed the movie. Robert Deniro and the rest of the cast did a terrific job in their respective roles.

I think my main problem is that it's too close to the source material and the movie itself is still too fresh. Why not remake Seven Samurai or something super old? I'm taking a pass on the new Oldboy simply I don't feel like shelling out $10 for a movie I already own just to see someone taller, speak english, and not be Korean. Maybe I'll be surprised one day though and say, "That was cool beans."

That said, saw We're the Millers last week and thought it was pretty damn funny. Great movie, highly recommend it.

Didn't have much to do yesterday so decided to watch a few movies.
1. Oblivion. Didn't like it. Was bored watching it and the ending was obvious.
2. Dead man down. Reviewed by somewhere as the best revenge thriller in years. Well that review is somewhat overrated.
3. Red cliff. One of my fave movies. Masterpiece.

Dead Man Down sucks.

The Last great revenge thriller was, I saw the Devil. A fantastic Korean movie.

I have Room 237 ready to watch, but I don't know when I'll get around to it. Part of me wants to wait for the weekend, but I'm pretty busy so I'll probably watch it tonight.
