What movies have you seen recently?

Avengers Infinity War, AKA Green Screen the movie - I feel like you could force terrorists to watch this movie on loop and most of them would tell you what you wanted to know halfway through the second showing. It's one part The Big Bang Theory episode and three parts YouTube Nascar crash highlight video.

Bazinga.

Anyway, I watched Birdbox seen everyone & their mother-in-law seems to be talk9ing about it, but I feel it is very overrated. I give it a 6.5/10.

Does anyone think I'll like Into the Spiderverse with all my distaste for typical Marvel movies? I'm going to see that in a couple of days.

Sisters Brothers
7/10
Kind of a different take on the Western genre. John C. Reilly is wonderful but you can't take the film seriously because of him. The rest of the cast is excellent and they try to balance the film towards a darker tone. The plot is a bit thin as well, and the core plot point fizzled at the end, but I did like that it was atypical for the genre.

Excellent attention to detail in costume and set design, and the music was quite beautiful. Worth a watch for Western fans.

John C. Reilly is an amazing actor. Was it his character, how he was written, or how he played the part. Did he play the character as he should have? One of my top five living actors.

Have seen Spider-Man Into The Spiderverse, thrice.

I’m gonna say it’s the best super hero movie of the year, he’ll ill say it’s the best Spider-Man movie ever. Yeah it’s an origin story, with plenty of filler but it’s grounded, touching, heartfelt and brought a tear to my eye, made my niece cry. Granted the twist wasn’t as “Oh WTF, it was him!?” As Spider-Man Homecoming, but the pacing was perfection.

The art is beautiful on so many levels...there’s many Easter eggs and little mannerisms that just add so much, if ya catch them.

This is definitely a film I’d recommend to see in the theaters.

It was his character. Supposed to be a bit of a friendly doofus that was too good for the cruel world.

Saw Bohemian Rhapsody. Loved it. Liked how it wasn't just Freddy Mercury the movie either, and how you saw bits of each member making their contributions to the bands lasting success. One thing I don't like though is how the movie handled the on-screen relationship of the band and Freddy. Particularly, they tried to push this idea that Freddy and the band clashed on the music more often than not, but he actually comes across accepting and something of a mediator for fights he was never part of. Most of the clashing was him wanting to go solo, partying too hard, and in the beginning when he injected his own lyrics into the bands song. Otherwise, I had a great time watching this movie. The performances were all top notch and it was cool to see some of the process in how they developed their songs. Really loved how the movie chose not to focus too much on Freddy having aids. He made so many mistakes, but was able to get his life back together. The man lived a happy life to the end and I can't think of a better message to send.

Spider Man Into the Spider Verse 7/10
great premise and story. Just not into animation as much as I used to be. If I were a teenage I probably would 've given it a perfect score.

Bohemian Rhapsody 7/10
I think the writers and directors (perhaps the band as well) wanted to make a hollywood movie out of this and they succeeded. It would have been so much better if they just portrayed the truth rather then making up so much melodrama. Still a great and uplifting movie.

Aquaman 8/10 a little hokey at times

Venom 9/10

That's why Sacha Baron Cohen, who I wanted as Mercury, left the project. Originally it was going to be a complete telling. Then the band put an end to that and actually wanted him to die mid way through and the second half be about the band going on without him.

can you link a brother to SBC's involvement/non involvement? Frankly the timeline was the best. I would have even rather seen more of the 70's in that biopic.
edit: just loooked it up and yea I think I would have liked o see the hedonism but then again I probably wouldnt be able to take the kids too it. May has a point; SBC is too recognizable (at least to liberals LOL)

The Post - Watched this on the HBO app. Great cast. I think Spielberg could take any moment in history and make an interesting/entertaining film out of it. This was right up my alley.

Cop Car - I’ve wanted to watch this for awhile I remember hearing good things around release. Was a damn good little film. Bacon and Whigham were good. I really liked the cinematography.
