What movies have you seen recently?

Searching - 7/10, was pretty interesting, did get me with one of the twists

Happy Death Day - 8/10, good fun, literally groundhog day but with jump scares. Was expecting a more slasher film so was surprised at how many deaths they cut away from

Shazam- 5/5
Amazing comic book movie, great villain great supporting cast. Can not wait for the 4K bluray and then the sequel.

First Man - 5/10, way too long with not enough interesting stuff happening. Almost turned it off halfway but something somewhat interesting happened which kept me going.

Captain Marvel

Fun movie even if tied up in begin an origin story. In some ways it made me think of THOR which was the setup for Loki and to also introduce that level of character power.

It wouldn't surprise me if Captain Marvel is a film vehicle to kind of introduce audiences to the idea of Cosmic Power level characters as well as expand on how many established aliens there are.

MAD MAX: Fury Road

It's interesting to watch considering my driving job lol. I imagine what it would be like to drive the War Rig.

I find the original intent of the franchise interesting which is to tap into the relationship between humans and their automobiles, especially with aggression.

I believe the first Mad Max drew inspiration from watching gas price riots in the 70s. I feel this is still a major aspect of Mad Max I find interesting. The weirdest part is today we're seeing a possible electric alternative and so many despise it out of nostalgia for gas guzzling muscle cars or Cadillacs.

Picked up a 4K copy of Aquaman. It was a fun entertaining comic book flick. Now visually that is one of the most impressive looking films I’ve ever seen. Some scenes are jaw dropping. This 4K purchase is worth it even just to show off your tv set to guests.

Bohemian Rhapsody - It was a decent movie. That last concert scene was really well done. Malek was good in the role not sure if that was award winning though. I was never a huge fan but I like some of their songs.

Highwaymen - A litgle slow, but not bad. Surprised we don't see more Bonnie & Clyde movies.

Shazam! 7.5/10

As a fan of the comic, lots of scenes had me grinning from ear-to-ear. It is definitely more of a family-friendly type of film, and it nearly captures the soul of 80's flicks (it doesn't quite succeed as much as Spider-Man: Homecoming did), but the cast is just fantastic.

Caveat: I loved Batman v. Superman and Justice League, and thought Aquaman was boring.

The Mule - Rented and watched this tonight. Solid film with a good cast I enjoyed it. If this possibly is Eastwood’s last starring role I think he went out on top. He’s still got it at almost 90.

Yeah I watched this last night and really enjoyed it. IMHO about 30 mins too long for me but the fight scenes were awesome. Great choreography and shot really nice! And I agree some of the scenes were beautiful!

I have all those except Gravity. I also watched the shootout/highway chase scene in Bad Boys 2. Good stuff action wise.

watched inception again last weekend as I never liked it when it first came out and didn't understand the hype. still feel the same, sorry to say but I think this movie is highly overrated!

LOVED interstellar btw and dark knight but inception although not a bad film wasn't my cup of tea :)

Shazam - Watched this Saturday night and it was ok. A bit too goofy at times and the action scenes lacked the impact we have got used to. 7/10.

Does everyone's internal dream world resemble a generic city?

History of Time Travel (2014): 6.5/10

Pretty decent story about time travel with a twist: it is told in the form of a documentary. Short movie, acting is meh, and production values are low, but it's worth watching to see some clever filmmaking.
