Jungle Cruise
Horrible, it's like they looked at The Mummy and Pirates of the Caribbean and tried to make something similar... But everything from acting to special effects are just plain bad.
The comedic timing is off in EVERY single scene and I think I've just realized how bad of an actor Duane really is.
Also, the corky sister with knowledge that impresses the action star and her weakling of a brother.... Yes, it's basically the Mummy at the amazons but without the charm.
Dwayne Johnson is only good in movies that are action comedies, he doesn't have much range which really worries me for the Black Adam movie. That part should have gone to an actor of Middle Eastern descent anyway, it could have been a huge role for an unknown actor but instead the Rock who seems to be in at least a new movie every 3 months and all over television had to take the part. I think he may be one of the producers so it could be that the film wouldn't have been made without him but Black Adam is a really cool character and should be played by someone who can do him justice.

Well, if ethnicity should matter here, he should be played by a copt... Which there isn't that many actors with even semi muscular builds (Rami is too scrawny and looks anemic). The rock looks pretty spot on imo.
But yeah, he isn't a good actor and as you said, he's everywhere right now.
I guess they could've made a muscle suit like they did Shazam though... That would make the casting much easier.

Black Adam doesn't have to be huge, a guy with a moderately muscular body would be fine it's not like he got his powers at the gym :) I know people want them to look just like the comic book characters but that's not always realistic. I remember the first time I saw pictures of Ian McKellen as Magneto before the first X-Men movie came out I couldn't believe a frail looking old man was going to be playing that muscular old guy from the comics/cartoons but I think he won most people over with the way he played the character.

I'm sure there is someone out there of Middle Eastern descent who can fill out a suit just fine, I'm not one of those people who's totally hung up on "representation" especially when it's for people from a fake country but it just doesn't seem to me that a Black/Samoan guy with very limited range was the only or best option they had.

But the copts (the closest to ancient Egyptian DNA) aren't really arabs or Persians... So even if they took a random middle easterner it wouldn't be "right".
A Samoan is pretty far away though lol
And yes, a super hero actor should be huge and ripped if the comic counterpart is imo, especially if they're going to make it unrealistic as the comics.
Look at BvS, Affleck is skinny fat but put him in a muscle suit and he looks amazing, that's one way to do it

That's what I mean, a guy who's moderately muscular with a suit on would look just fine for the part.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife - I enjoyed it. Far, far better than the last monstrosity. I do feel they went a bit too heavy on the nostalgia and as a result they failed to establish this as its own thing. Wasn't really enough ghostbusting either.

King Richard: GREAT

I grew up watching the Agassi era of tennis, and stopped following the sport closely after that generation retired. Obviously, I knew of the Williams sisters over the years, but didn't know their story very well. This film tells their story but focuses on their father, who orchestrated their entire career.

Will Smith Oscar buzz real?

I started rewatching Ali the other night on Netflix. I think that is Will Smith’s best performance and such a great film. Mann captures that time in history so well with an all around good cast in those roles.

Indecent Proposal - Below Average

Saw it when I was younger, pissed me off watching it this time. What a clown Harrelson was. His wife leaves him, bangs a billionaire, she lives the life for a while while he's wallowing in misery and hating life. When it ends she comes running back to him and he just accepts her back. f*** that.

Live or let die (2020)
German post apocalyptic zombie movie... Low production values, still the zombies look better than most movies imo. The gore looks pretty bad but there's not really a lot of it anyway.
The two leading actors actually do a pretty good job. Supporting cast go from okay to lol.
Still, movie is fairly okay in the genre, doesn't deserve the low IMDb score imo.
