What TV show have you seen recently ? Episode one

Watched Parasite from netflix.

It was probably one of the weaker Korean show I watched. So apparently Koreans can make bad shows as well.
Main Villain is weak source, Main Protagonist is classic emo tropes, her supporting npc, the dude (sorry I cannot remember Korean names, just call him Jim) fit the comic relief occasional useful tropes. Every char is a trope with very litte depth. No charc arc, growth, never cared for her. Whole premise is high school essay level.
Basically, the type of story from "modern" Hollywood writers. I expect more from korea. Oh well.

I give it a 5.8/10
spinoff/based off the movie?

I have 1 episode left of The Tourist and Curb. Both have been great.
Dang I got the day off work today. So much content and having a blast.

Last episode of Shogun S01, 2nd episode of A Gentleman in Moscow was fantastic (I think this show is awesome so far)

Could also give the last episode of Curb another watch :)

We're spoiled right now!

I want to give A Gentleman in Moscow a try.

Crook.
New show on Netflix. It’s very good , in a sense it’s very realistic, the gangs. Apparently across the pond, diversity and inclusion not a thing, and you have homogeneous Turkish gang, Algerian gang, black gang, ,Russia mobs, and neo Nazi thrown in,no token “strong”women thrown in the gangs. like it’s believable iRL, ignoring sensitivity.

In a way the show is diverse, there is good diversity representation for all the bad guys.

This diversity is more organic than the United nation ad gangs we see now in latest Hollywood shows.

Anyway, the story was also pretty brutal and nice. The believeabily is what sold the show. It almost felt like documentary at time .

Anyway, I have something to say about "diversity" in shows that maybe be crazy.

i am a history nut. when I was a kid, I would borrow all the ancient civilization books from libarary and read them dry.

Instead of race/gender historical characters, usually European history, how about create historical, or fantasy setting base on diverse places. One of the best historical setting film I watched was apolypto, detailing the final days of the Aztec civilization. Whether you like Mel Gibson, he was a great filmaker. Fact.

Why cannot more film, show base on cool cilization like these, or the Mayan, or from the many region of Africa. Then we have organic diversity, and support local film makers and economy.

I have always wanted to see something based in ancient Sumeria.

Watched the first 5 episodes of fallout
The level of details they followed the source material should be a benchmark.
Well ( mostly) well written chars.

Main female protagonist not a male hating Mary sue. What a refreshment.

The show should be a gold standard for how to make a good game/ comic adaptation, along with one piece .

I didn't think much about that but honestly the more female protagonists that are written similar to Lucy the better imo without spoiling too much.

When they are written well you don't...why would you? There are hundreds of female lead characters where you never think of it.

Shame Hollywood and Co don't realise that.

I heard someone used to say, when you are acting good, people do not notice. Only when your acting is bad do people noticed.
I think its the same with chars. When it too unrealistic (being too good or bad) people noticed.

Not all chars are well written though in Fallout., There is one (not important char), without spoiler, that was so over the top being a dick to his assistant, even when he need his assistant urgent help. it is so unreal.

Well that isn't really true, though, is it. We always recognise the good acting.

The issue with bad anything is people will be more vocal and opinionated about it.

I finished the Fallout series. They knocked that s*** out the park! Like others have said I hope other movie and series creators take note, this is how you do it right based on a video game. My wife knew nothing about the games and she loved it. Now the long wait for more…
