What TV show have you seen recently ? Episode one

Started watching "His Dark Materials" on HBO, into season 2 now and I really like it.

Finished season 1 of Yellowstone. Kinda soap opera-ish, but I definitely dug it overall. From what I've heard they moved away from that part of it and it turns better season 2, looking forward to it.
My Mom loved that show, I watched it with her mostly for the scenery, they film a lot of it in Utah.

Season 2 is a cool departure from season 1 I'm liking it too.
The special effects are really good in both seasons too, HBO really does seem to put money into their shows, I think this one is shared with a network in the UK.

Hellsing: Ultimate

A reboot of the Hellsing anime show. About an organization that somehow has a super powerful vampire magically bound to their will that they use to kill other vampires. Mostly, it's just a crazy violent overpowered character who stomps most enemies.

Sweet home on Netflix, yeah sometimes the VFX can be a little cheesy but I am really enjoying it.
sometimes the VFX is awesome and other times not so good, but it’s a TV show and I know how pressed they are sometimes for time and money.

the kings avatar also on NF - Chinese soap opera about online gaming stars and again I am really liking it.
looks like the ingame stuff is made with UE4 and some cool action.

Actually watched 1st episode last night and was really good. I like the style and action.

Started watching The Expanse. On episode 3 and waiting for it to get good.

Edit: Holy crap Season 2 Episode 2 has the greatest space battle I’ve ever seen in Sci Fi. Even beats Battlestar Galactica.

Night Stalker on Netflix.

Only watched the first episode but mannnn what the f**k.

The Nightstalker was a literal boogeyman to everyone living in SoCal during that time. It was pretty crazy.
OK watched the Night Stalker Netflix doc last night. The series focuses on the killings and their investigation, and not so much on Ramirez's motivations or mentality. Amazing how the police (and a hat tip to Diane Feinstein) f***ed things up along the way. There's blood on their hands.

Night Stalker - Good
Finished it today, it was alright. Seemed a bit simplified and direct compared to something like Making of a Murderer, though. Which was a little surprising given the complexity and unique nature of the case.

I don't think it was that complex of a crime. He was very random. Also, he refused to be interviewed by anyone except that one author, I believe. I wonder if they'll do a followup on the recordings? Then again, maybe they don't want them to really be promoted to not influence anybody to do something insane. With how easily we've seen people get influence with outright, easily identifiable fallacies, this may be too much for society right now.

Really? He goes against the grain of normal serial killers, he is far beyond a common criminal. It is something they had never seen before. Evidence and clues being what they were. Then on top of that he is random as hell. Sounds about as complex as a case could be.

Maybe I'm being unfair given how long a go it was, and as you say, they really only had one perspective. But it seemed a little dumbed down to me.

Someone recommended a good series on Amazon that I'd never heard of called Counterpart. It is only 2 seasons and done, so not a huge commitment.

Sort of a thriller/sci fi show that was really good.

I really enjoyed it and don't even want to say what it is about, better if you go in cold. Give it a bit to get going too.

Star Trek Discovery: finally powered through the last boring 5 episodes. Damn I've never seen a more preachy Star Trek show, and there have been lots of them over the decades. Utter crap this season, with the exception about the food replicator scene.

The Expanse: I caught up on this show and watching Discovery made me appreciate Expanse a lot more. Pretty much binged the show within a few weeks. Not super great, and there are some boring moments, but there are moments of utter brilliance. Good show.

I loved Douglas from The IT Crowd so much I finally decided to start What We Do In The Shadows on FX/Hulu. Colin Robinson might be the best written character I've ever seen lol
