What TV show have you seen recently ? Episode one

Russian Doll

Some of the comedic material and delivery comes off strangely. However, after watching the first 2 episodes I feel the show is going to reveal a more serious tone and slow reveal explaining what is going on. Basically, the day keeps repeating, but there are hints of other things going on that may be related.

I also wonder if the lead actress' strong point is not this weird kind of comedy, but serious drama, and when the show shifts gears her acting will mesh with the show better.

The show has a strange start but might have potential.

EDIT: I watched 2 more episodes. The heavy handed humor has toned down and more twists to the story are coming in to the show.

EDIT EDIT: I finished Season 1. Pleasantly met some expectations. Leading character was overly quirky but balanced by the 2nd main uptight character.

The main theme of the show is the main character dies and repeats the day. I give the show credit for running far with this idea and evolving it. It is honestly like a much more sophisticated Groundhog Day situation with more more serious character development as well as consequences that carry over in loops. The show sets up a strange ending so I'm curious how that will resolve.

About halfway through Season 1 of Glow. Great show so far, not sure why I've slept on it this long, especially as a dork who actually likes wrestling and loves Allison Brie.

I finished final season of Black Mirror last night. Great show! I really liked most of the episodes in season 4. The video game/Star Trek spoof was pretty cool and the so called “dog” in Metalhead was creepy as hell. Towards the end of the season White Christmas was still my favorite episode and I didn’t think anything would top it, till I got to the final episode Black Museum. Great episode and now my favorite!

Highly recommend this show.

Midnight diner; Tokyo stories on netflix.
Figure a lot lost in translation, and Japoonese have a very strange sex and gender culture, but I love this show. It's kind of like the small stories in Lost Odyssey, but with mostly happy endings (no...).
Makes you want to go down to nearest local sushi bar and drink beer lol

Finished season two of True Detective. Maybe not as good as the first but still enjoyable. I'll wait a bit before starting season three. Might actually make use of my Amazon Prime and watch something on their. Probably go with either Jack Ryan or Lore. I'd like to watch Man in the High Castle as well but might read the book first.

TD season 2 was very good and got a lot of undeserved flack.

Jack Ryan was ok. I wouldn't tell people it is a should see, though.

I have season 2 of TD just need to get around to watching. I think I’ve waited so long to watch it because of the mixed reaction it got. I’ve heard season 3 has been good.

Just caught up with the third season of halo the expanse, loved it, can’t wait to see what season four may hold, kinda see where halo may have got some inspiration from the novels.

Russian Doll is f***ing fantastic. The dialogue and symbolism are so rich. I loved both protagonists

I’m watching through the X-Files again on Prime. My wife has never seen it she’s hooked. We’re almost through the first season. While the effects are dated it actually looks nice remastered in HD and the characters and stories are still interesting.
