At first I was really excited for both. Fast forward to now and IMO the Xbox One is by far the better console. I just recently canceled my Ps4 pre order and put that money towards a nice surround sound system. I don't get why people keep saying the consoles are similar because they are not by a long shot. I will pick up the Ps4 next year I guess. I just wanted to know if there other intake on the PS4/Xbox one comparison and what made the Xbox one the console for you.

MS got me with the console reveal.

Xbox Live and the continual evolution of everything I've grown familiar with over the past 12 years. If the PS4 was head and shoulders graphically beyond the X1, it would have been a tougher choice.
Right. To me the Ps4 just can't compete and it will be the same as it was last gen. It will take the Ps4 6-7 years to actually be on the XB1's level IMO. It's ashame because I was actually excited for it but oh well XB1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you can start explaining the deciding factor for you? :)

I'm not sold on either. I still have a massive library of stuff I need to play on the Xbox 360 let alone the PS3. The cost of admission on those things will drop while the cost of the new stuff is just simply out of my reach.

I was sold at the reveal. I didn't mind online always either.

-Better controller
-Forza 5 running at 1080p/60fps
-Titanfall in the spring
-Better online experience (plus I have a lot of time left on my Live account)

Maybe I'm just a fanboy, but I honestly don't see what's so great about the other console, unless the price difference is a big deal for people.

Still haven't been able to decide and due to backlog it could ve along while . I know I will eventually get both because I can't pass up on good games and jrpgs PS4 will get only because it home turf . I have to have an X1 just for KI being a fighting fan so it's a toss up on which one to get first .

Probably due to these factors in this order.....

- Games, games, games! More games and more variety. More focus on full budget games. I buy next gen systems for the new whiz-bang games. Not for $5 indie games I can get on PC. I'll be getting a shooter at launch (CoD or BF) and DLC comes out first!
- Dedi servers
- MS kept the controller the same layout which is the best layout. Rumble triggers is a total bonus
- New smart match and rep system
- Kinect 2, cable snapping and video uploading are bonus for me
- The recent Machina snapping is great too. I've been stuck myself in games, or siply wanted to check out ES or Fallout info while I explore. Now I don't have to take off to my PC

I got mad at e3 with the $100 price difference and said I might do the ps4 instead. Not sure who i was trying to kid, I am so pumped for the Xbox One, the 22nd cant come soon enough

With the amount most of us have spent on this hobby $100 is a drop in the bucket lol..just be glad you don't live in Brazil where the X1 is $1,000 USD and the PS4 is $1,800 USD (yes you read that right...)

Yeah. Amazing how for gamers making a stink, $100 is such a be all and end all factor. Yet I bet many gamers have no problem getting stoked and buying their 4th smartphone in 8 years, $100+ jeans (which costs stores about $30 as textiles typically have a 70% margin), and for 20+ year olds spending $20-30/wk at Starbucks for a 500 calorie frappuccinos.

At $100 premium, not only does it offer more games and services (at this point), but if a typical gamer plays a console for 5 years before ditching it, that's...... wait for it...... $20/yr.

As for South America pricing, yeah, what a farce. I've always read that those countries get absurd prices.

How about every game so far with a confirmed resolution on PS4, is displaying 1080p?

Yes, but at 30fps???

30fps for next gen consoles is extremely disappointing. Fans of either console shouldn't even have to ask what is the resolution/fps. I think a lot of people just assume everything next gen is running at 1080p/60fps, but most games I've seen are not. Or at least they have not come out and confirmed anything.

I was half tempted to just build myself a new gaming PC after hearing about so many games running at a clunky framerate. I hope that is something that devs can fix once they get a little more time with each system.

Games. If Ryse and Dead Rising were Sony launch exclusives, I'd be getting a PS4 at launch instead of a One. But they're not, so I'll be waiting until the Spring of 2014 to get the PS4.

Cause Microsoft not only have the great games, superior online with XBox Live, dedicated severs, and the $ for great partnerships with the great ones like Epic and Crytek, but they have a vision behind what they plan to do. All l ever have to ask myself is this....
Do Sony have these and if so are they better......? Power specs don't win a console war. Diversity in home entertainment starting with games, superior online, and a next gen Kinect that compliments your game playing and tv viewing is what interests me much more than just another Grand Turismo or KillZone game. Plus I've been an Xbox owner dating back to the original XBox. I've always been pretty happy with their console and game decisions. Don't see that changing. Bring on November baby.\m/

Yes, but at 30fps???

Both systems will probably have equal amount of games at 30f/s.
Pretty sure Dead Rising 3 on XboxOne, Killzone campaign on PS4, etc.

I myself really only want 60f/s with fighting games, FPS multiplayer, and racing games.
Action/adventure games I'm ok with a solid 30f/s, esp if they crank the eye candy way up.

Honestly, I wouldn't turn down playing a great game at 720p. But 1080p should be the standard this generation.
720p was the standard in 2005. I understand SOME exceptions should be made (BF4), but I hope it doesn't become commonplace.
1080p is delicious cake.

Framerate is huge. Playing FPS at 30 fps or less is terrible. I'd rather give up some resolution to get higher fps, like BF4. The difference between an upscaled resolution and 1080p is not a big deal, but the fps is.

There's a reason I never play BF3 on consoles. The framerate is horrendous for a shooter.

They got me when Major Nelson revealed the sticker.

60FPS definitely should be paramount in fighting games and FPS. KI at 60fps by 720p isn't so bad..it still looks pretty good. I think as the devs start making 8th gen only games instead of cross gen games we will start seeing 1080p become the standard. Not every game was 720p back in 2005 either IIRC, and both systems will be upscaling to 1080p anyways, and the scalers these days are impressive
