What's next for the Gaming Industry? It's MS not Sony Giving the Answers

This guy is really reaching, Sony revealed the existence of their next gen machine first, they are still selling consoles and have two huge games coming up before the PS5 launches which will take all of their marketing focus so why expect them to focus on something not coming out for a year that has no playable games to show? He really sounds like he's trying to take internet gossip and turn it into a story, he must have had a deadline for an article or something lol.

Also what is MS talking a lot about? I honestly don't see them out there talking the way he's saying they are, they had their E3 show but that's been about it hasn't it? The most they've said about Gears is how many players it had, they wouldn't even say how many actually bought the game, they've been pretty quiet too going by his metric.

Bottom line is we actually know slightly more about the PS5 than scarlett, neither one should be getting too much attention until they have something to show us being played, talking too much without showing anything is a quick way to make people lose interest and it's a good thing neither of these companies are talking too much yet.

Gotta side with Val on this one. Not sure the Switch can really be considered a new generation. Nintendo is kind of doing their own thing now and not worried about Sony or MS as well.

Nintendo announced it as the start of the next gen. But to me, really the Switch is more a handheld than a console. I mean, you can dock it and send it to your TV. I can also dock my iPhone and send it to my TV. That doesn't make my iPhone a console.

Personally I haven't considered Nintendo to be in the same gen as Sony or MS since the Wii launched, they've decided to do their own thing. To me you have to have a certain level of technical advancement before you really are considered a new gen and Nintendo doesn't work that way anymore. If you want to go simply by the number of consoles they've released than I guess Nintendo Switch would already be next gen since they dumped the Wii U so quickly.
