When will we see the "next gen" moment?

Lol
How on this earth are you beating on me?
You're the one who gets emotional every other post.
I've been doing these breathing exercises, mainly to try and become one with nature, but I think they might be good for your anger too, PM me and I'll send you some info.

Well, not from Xbox first party for sure, since they are committed to cross gen for first 2 years, which imo a big S mistake.

if I know I can play latest Xbox games on x1, but I need to get a PS5 to play the latest Sony blockbusters, why would I buy an X box series X , over an PS5?

but you can play more shiny version of a cross gen game! yes, you can do so on PS5 as well, on top of true next gen titles that push next gen hardware.

There is no reason to get excited about cinematics, whether they are in-engine or otherwise. They can look dramatically different from gameplay.

Ratchet and Clank is the only thing I"ve seen so far that has shown gameplay that looks next gen.
Agree. I rather 10 sec of gameplay than 20mins of cinematic.

too late

And how? The case could be made for ratchets rift jumping or the parallel world's in the medium, but to me I'm yet to see something to really make me want another console outside of all the marketing talk and "dev praises".

Maybe we won't see something for at least a couple years? I know Sony has some more games up their sleeve as does Xbox, but I dunno guys, I love seeing new games and I liked the variety of what I've seen from both showcases, nothing's wowed me, maybe I'm a miserable prick but I'm not exactly hard to please.

Well after seeing the PS5 show, nothing from that camp looks next gen. But what MS has shown us so far, it appears that Flight Simulator 2020 is the one to beat. Digital Foundry is having virtual orgasms over the game. It's the sexiest "next gen" game out there by a long shot. And it's from Xbox Game Studios.

These games are next gen and look DRAMATICALLY better than what MS showed.

And to a extent....

LOL, no. R&C looks like a Switch game and it appears to be a buggy nightmare. Oh, and 30fps, LOL.

Yeah, Ratchet and Clank has a spark of next-gen, with the RT bits and the portals.

Flight Simulator is definitely in another league, as far as visuals. I'd like to see this running on Series X, for sure!

Still, so far it looks like we aren't getting any actual launch games that move the bar for either console. I wasn't expecting that. :(

I am hoping Medium shows that spark.
