Where else do I ask this? Teams can replace Skype?

Can it?

The only person I Skype with is my father.

Skype was causing me issues so I deleted it from every device.

Told Dad, just f'n email me, works like a charm.

So he's been doing that (he's on vacation) and it works.

But he's an old dude that seems to think we have to Skype, yet he's on Apple stuff (iPad basically) with the rest of my family.

So really simple kind of question, can Teams be used like Skype? Can someone on an iPad communicate with someone on Android or Windows (me) without much hassle?

Help me help my old man here. Apparently emailing is annoying to him............

Never tried Teams on ipad, but there's an app for it on the app store. Teams is more flexible than Skype imo.

Gonna have to test it out.

It's really unfortunate being the only Android dude in my family.

So just trying to come up with a solution to that. Skype sucks btw. I will get a message "dinner is ready" 3 hours after that message was sent for example.

Hmmmm.
 
Now I have another question.


YouTube is f***ing with me..............well not really they just don't seem to like my ad blocker (ublock origin) and I've been getting warnings...........

I keep finding ways around it. But I could also pay $130 for a years subscription.........just to avoid ads?

I just can not deal with ads on YouTube. Haven't had an issue until recently and well now I guess I gotta figure something out.

I thought I was getting around it and now they're just shutting me off from watching videos. So, switch browser and now I get the warning that times out in a few seconds and I can watch ad free again..........but how long will that last?

Hmmmmmmm.

Right, asking a lot of dumb questions maybe.

WhatsApp video or Google meet is another option if you don't like teams or Skype.

Depends on who owns the software. I don't do anything FaceBook owned. And I no longer do Twitter thanks to that Elon guy.

So I'm basically non-social media guy and totally fine with it.

Just trying to find something to communicate with my Apple family while I'm on Windows and Android. Something easy for both sides.

Facebook owns WhatsApp. Google meet is owned by Google.
