Hi all,

I thought i'd start this as its now relevant to our system, SONY and probably Nintendo. However all I am concerned about is the XBOX platform.

As everyone know there are many different TV's out around the world from many manufactures. So although I am in the UK I am interested in what people have or are planning to buy.

Whatever I get it will have HDR:

None.

Since they came out and said that the power can be used for other things it makes me think that most games might not even be 4K.

So right now, I am not planning on buying a 4K TV. I will wait and see how things go. Plues, in a year the TVs you can get at your comfortable price point will get better.

Not sure yet..I'm looking at LG's super hdr, 4k series. I wish they'd come out with a more affordable of their OLED G6 HDR series next year. Luckily, there's plenty of time to find something awesome within my budget. Good times ahead.

Yeah, that's the TV I want.

EDIT: And..... it's 8 grand. Damn.

My problem is that I've been gaming on the lowest input lag monitors I can find for quite some time now. Most of the TVs I'm interested in have 3 to 4 times the input lag even on "game mode". That's going to be hard to go back to, the only way I can get any advantage in multiplayer against those stupid young kids is to have less input lag! I'm going to get my kiester kicked even more now!

This is exactly the reason I though this thread would be good. I don't know what i'm looking for after '4K UHD with HDR'

Does this thread extend to monitors as well? I play on a monitor and will be looking to upgrade at some point for Scorpio.

From what I understand, there aren't really any true HDR monitors available at the moment, maybe some later this year.

I am not buying a 4k tv anytime soon. I actually got in on a few slickdeal's tvs that were posted.
http://slickdeals.net/f/8841931-50-...rt-very-ymmv-deals-as-low-as-124-b-m-only?v=1

This week I got a 55" 4k LG for $399 and a 65" Samsung 1080 for $499. Last month I got a 50" 4k Vizio for $348, I sold it for $475 and plan on selling the LG. I also got a 32" Emerson with built in dvd for $69. I am keeping the Samsung though and set it up yesterday, I had to turn that horrible motion feature off, I cant believe anyone likes that

For me it has always been Panny Plasmas (as long as they have existed)
But the next tv will be a Panny OLED HDR.
I really hate the LED tvs where the light are bleading all around the rim and they can't do total blacks like a high end panny plasma.
OLED will solve this

At a minimum make sure its Full Array LED/LCD ie most are Edge Lit INCLUDING the 4K Monitors which have have high hz/fps but are Edge lit.
So a Full Array LED/LED at entry level and OLED at the higher end. IF you want the best PQ.

I'll wait until Scorpio comes out and then look into buying one, as others have said the prices will be better a year from now.

Your next will have to be LG if you want OLED or A Panasonic LED/LCD and I think they have one Full Arrray set.

I will get a 4k samsung, i would like the lg g6 oled but its way over priced my friend games on an oled he said its nice not much burn in

Vizio P-series 2016 is the best bang for your buck. Full Array Local Dimming, HDR (support both HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR)

Keep in mind that Vizio and LG choose to support both HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR in their sets, while Sony and Samsung only support HDR10. If Dolby Vision becomes the dominant standard for 4K Blu-ray and 4K streaming later on, then your Samsung/Sony set is screwed. HDR10 support can be provided through firmware update. However, Dolby Vision support requires a built-in chip.

But if you read the article it seems like HDR10 is what is most popular and by a long shot.

I went big and bought an LG OLED. It's beautiful even better than my a Panny Plasma.
