When I lived in north Carolina I worked HVAC. We were at a Elementary school wrapping up for the day. My duty was to check all the rooms we'd worked in and collect any tools and ladders.
Long story short - last hall in the school. Long, and curved. Like half of a circle. I'm walking and I hear high heels behind me. I stop. Listen. Nothing.
I start walking again. High heels walking behind. I stop. Turn around and I hear the high heels leave the hallway I was occupying.
Another instance: my girlfriend at the time had bought me a super nice keyboard for my birthday. Anyway, I'm home after school. I jump on the keyboard - had been thinking about it all day. I begin playing. Learning to create by ear.
I start playing and find this melody in my tinkering. I begin working it. I s*** you not; I feel this presence enter the room behind me. It sits on our bed - listening. I never turned around and kept playing. But I know it was there. My girl wouldn't be home for a few hours yet. When I stopped playing, it got up, and left. I felt it leave.
Another time before that, I'm at my pad. I'm hot on this script - deep diving. I was in college at the time for video production and creative writing.
Anyway, I'll never forget the line of dialogue I was writing when I looked down at my fingertips. No bulls***: all ten of them were covered in blood. The line of dialogue I was writing said, "Jesus, Mary and Joseph! "
I was checking my nose, thinking maybe I'd been picking it too hard or some s***. Nothing.. I couldn't explain it. I don't even remember picking my fuking nose to begin with. And certainly not with every finger on my hands.
I figured it happened for one of two reasons:
1)For the line of dialogue I'd written.
2)There's a saying that goes, "write until your fingers bleed. " Well, I definitely had done that.
Do I believe in Ghosts? I do. But I inherently know not to fear them.
Thanks for sharing. The "presence" story (while playing music) sounds believable to me. That last story is pretty strange, the one with blood your fingertips. Not sure what to make of that. Very weird.
I agree that most ghosts are not harmful. Reports of them pushing or hurting people are pretty rare. I have heard a few, though (e.g., the Ghost Hunters clip of the sound guy being knocked down).
p.s. Actually I do believe there are low-level spirits that can attach to people sometimes and amplify their misery. They aren't demons, just disembodied people stuck at very low levels of development. So an ex-addict might hang around a bar, for instance, and draw energy from one of the patrons.
