Who believes in Ghosts?

Wow, that's a lot of power, behind whatever did that. Were you hurt in any way? Or just shocked? Did you tell anyone?

It was forcefully gentle. I don't think it meant to harm me at all but I could sense that whatever did this to me had significant power to do so. I asked my mom if she saw what just happened after I caught my wits and when she hadn't I didn't know how to even explain. I wasn't even sure at the time it actually had happened though I knew it did. First time I have ever mentioned it to anyone was here!

Wow, that's a hell of a story.

So it was gentle, and you don't think it meant you harm. Although you realized it had a lot of power.

I wonder what/who that was. And what it/he/she was doing.

"Had been in the house about 6 months and it was a fairly new home at the time."

Could it have been a previous, deceased owner of the house? Maybe it was getting you out of a room that used to belong to him/her/it?

There's plenty of evidence. Mainstream science just won't look at it. Doesn't fit the materialist paradigm. Science is a culture and operates with group-think and pressures to conform, like any other culture (see Thomas Kuhn, for instance). Scientists who try to study this area have their reputations ruined. Nevertheless, some of them do so anyhow, and they've accumulated an impressive body of evidence.

So the evidence is there, for anyone diligent and open-minded enough to do the work and find out for themselves. Trouble is, you have to do the work yourself, and most atheist/materialists are not motivated to do it. They are closed-minded about the issue and won't take the time. They just accept the prevailing dogma.

Andy, noooo!!

You can't drop a bomb like this and then just remove yourself from the discussion immediately after!

I used to be a fan of the rock band The Killers, and was pretty disheartened to see their lead singer, Brandon Flowers, kind of pull off a similar move when he willingly chose to debate Richard Dawkins.

I understand not wanting to discuss something like this but to say people of science are willfully ignorant and then just drop the mic? Boo!!

Anyway, this thread is about ghosts. I just wanted to say that I saw what you did there.

I think it's possible that my car may be haunted. Or something.

I've noticed that while waiting to pick up my nephew from school, that I've experienced a knocking noise, like someone knocking on the back window. This has happen about ten times now, and always at 3:38pm.

It happens mostly when I'm sitting there and kind of dozing off. The knocking actually wakes me from my nap. I have no explaintion for it so far.

The most reasonable explanation I can think of is that your car makes a knocking sound when it's idle (assuming it's running) or when it's cooling down (if it's not). 3:38 is a strange coincidence, but that could be because you pick up your nephew from school around the same time every day.

It would be pretty weird for a ghost to follow a car around and knock on your back window to get your attention. I've never heard of something like that (though I'm sure it's possible). They are usually stuck at particular locations where they've lived or died.

Yeah it's usually off and cooling down. It doesn't sound like a knock from the engine, but it must be.

The 3:38pm thing is weird. But maybe it's because that's the only time that I'm in my car for an extended amount time like that?

Yeah, it's probably the only time you're sitting in a car that's cooling down. Most people don't do that.

Their spirits are all trapped in McNuggets and hotdogs.

Or booze?

If ghosts were real, wouldnt we see Ghost cows and pidgeons and rats?

Well, we have plenty of accounts of dogs and cats appearing in spirit (not sure you'd call them "ghosts," exactly). Some horses, too. I can't remember hearing any accounts of ghost cows or pigeons, though. Maybe it depends on whether there is a connection to a human being. I'm not sure how all this works. Above my pay grade.

I do believe there are ghosts. Whether the ones of horror movies are real or not, I do believe in some form a person's spirit or essence can remain. Also real or not I love me some Ghost Adventures.

I just reread this thread. Unbelievable.

We're giving credence to a cable TV show called Ghost Hunters as proof that ghosts exist?

Either this is some strange meta troll thread or...or I'm speechless.
