I guess it all comes down to how big you are on the new hardware. For me, I'm all about the new consoles, so MS wins easily. Was kind of surprised really, but then again if you aren't a day 1 console buyer or planning to be this mid gen then I can see a different vote.

I am all about what really excited me and can be played pretty soon/as soon as possible. Hence EA winning for Battlefield 1. I got a huge hard-on for this game. Haven't been this excited for a Battlefield game since BF2 got announced

I am very pumped for that too. I'm hoping it can get back to the less modern and more balanced 1942. Definitely a day 1 for me.

For me Microsoft. I love the fact that I have Recore, Forza Horizons 3, Gears, and Dead Rising to play this year. Ps4 is fast becoming my spring machine. I play 2 games a year on it (uncharted and ratchet both were great!). They did shows some cool stuff coming out later, but what about sooner? I was also disappointed by God of war. What I saw wasn't god of war, it seemed like Kratos meets the Last of us. It may be fun, but if it doesn't have balls to the wall action I will be disappointed.

Sony showed a lot of the same games from last year. Same goes with Microsoft. Sony showed, two?, new games this year outside of the collage of VR and indie games. Microsoft showed nothing new. Where's my Cuphead dammit? Nintendo showed Zelda. My initial reaction was of disgust. After the trailer, I fell better about it.

Nobody really "won." Each had their own little areas that I liked and disliked.

I count 6 new ones - God of War, Spider-Man, Days Gone, Death Stranding, the Crash Bandicoot remake (not shown but announced), and Resident Evil 7*. Not including the indies and a dozen or so (?) VR games.

*unless Resident Evil is a VR game, in which case it's 5. I wasn't paying close attention to RE; it's not really my style.

I may have to change my vote now that I think about it.

Maybe MS did win. I think in the days/weeks/months following E3 more people are going to be talking about what MS announced (Scorpio) than what Sony announced (great looking games, but far off ones).

I just casted my vote because the biggest news was scorpio. It will be talked about from now until it launches when everything else will be forgotten.

It's funny. Last year people moaned that MS just showed trailer after trailer and this year its because they had developer's on stage every other game.

Both had good shows and Nintendo was Just another sad year

Not even going to read the thread, because I know everyone else put the answer I am about to put; gamers.

Now to read the thread.

Oh... oh my...

PC won! So many games announced and shown compared to the others! Plus this game!

I picked other. And by other I mean me. I won E3, like I won E3 last year.

How did I win?

I didn't watch any of the awkward conferences that all do that recap thing at the end by going through bullet points of what they just covered in the last 90 minutes like you are a forgetful child. A child goldfish.

I then use Neogaf, who did suffer through them all, to filter the juicy bits.

Sony always wins. They put on a show like no other each year. The only thing is, it's mostly games that we won't be playing for 1-2 years. I'm fine with that, there's always plenty to play but it's just the truth. Sony plays on the hype because they can, they have more games to show than anyone else. God of War, The Last Guardian, Horizon, Detroit, Days Gone. Take my money Sony.

On the Microsoft side of things, i'm really looking forward to most of the games they showed and announcing the Scorpio was huge for them. Though i don't think it's really going to give them as much momentum as people are thinking. I don't see anyone jumping ship for pixels alone. You have to have the games to go with it.

Xbox won. I understand why the majority of casual onlookers and hardcore gamers in the press feel Sony won. They put on a great show. They showed at least 4 games that look better than anything on Xbox One. But 3 of those games have no release date and will be out after Scorpio...and for all we know will need to be played on the Neo to look like those videos.

Both MS and Sony showed a similar number of exclusives. The difference is most of MS's games were either announced or leaked but will be coming out over the next year while many of Sony's were surprises that we won't see for 2-4 years. (Does Kojima even have his stuff unpacked in his new office yet?) MS has shown a lot more actual gameplay at E3 and the games are previewing well.

The hardware announcements, while expected, were both unveiled as being more than what many people anticipated.

The added features to the ecosystem (background music, clubs, cross-buy/cross play everything 1st party) are coming soon. There wasn't any equivalent of ecosystem enhancements at Sony's conference.

Overall I'm more excited about owning a Xbox for the next year and beyond. Sony showed some great videos and I may get a Neo when they finally release. Then again, who knows if I'll still feel the same way about those games 2-4 years from now after Scorpio has been on the market.

Between now and next year's E3, MS's show will resonate more despite the lack of surprise games. Xbox, due to the way they're changing the landscape, is getting most of the attention right now. Attention is good as long as people aren't laughing at you.

Detroit also.

Yeah, they just showed a brief teaser trailer last year, with some cheesy voiceover. It looked more interesting this year.

I think I'm over Cage, after Beyond, but I'll give him another go, just because I like narrative games. But still ... the man needs to learn how to write. I hear he has help on this one, so that's good.

Can I say no one. Not because some generic everyone wins, but it was a really lackluster show in terms of excitement. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of solid games coming out. They're just very know quantities. Forza, Gears, God of War, Battlefield 1, Dead Rising, all look great. They'll be played and enjoyed, but it's hard to get hyped for games your so familiar with.

The new consoles are just adding graphics at this point. It will be nice, but nothing to progress gaming.

Cross play and the new XBL components are good ideas, but honestly I probably won't use them.

God of war and Gears I think sum up my meh attitude the best. I think it's going to be hard in gears to believe another emergence from another random enemy. The video I saw and immediately thought "God I hated the flood in Halo and now they're in Gears :( God of War looked amazing, but like gears it's hard to believe Kratos again in this story. Both franchises missed an opportunity to take their great game play and introduce a new story/characters.

Surprised to see someone tie God of War and Gears together when they seem like such drastically different ways to continue a franchise. Of course whether either is doing the right thing is subjective.

It's Facebook data based on activity at game publishers' sites.

I hate Facebook, but hey, it's a graph. Metrics!

One other possible winner: if anyone has a copyright on the "{location}: {two words}" format for naming a game, they're going to make a gajillionteen dollars from Sony.

IMO Sony saved E3. Not even sure how people can say Microsoft won. Outside of Scalebound I wasn' blown away by anything at the Microsoft conference while Sony had me floored nearly the whole time.

God of War is a reboot. it's based on Norce Mytholgy and Kratos actually a fleshed out character. Many of the games are pushing tech in ways you can't imagine I disagree with everything except Gears of War. It does feel outdated.

GoW will no doubt be fun but the demo was a dull dad simulation.
