Let's try this again. The first attempt wasn't successful, but let's give it another shot. It still may end up in the ditch, who knows, but it's the question everyone always asks:

Who won E3?

All opinions welcome!

Sony definitely impressed me more. I'm not excited about anything MS showed at E3 other than Scalebound and even that is a muted excitement. Microsoft slacking big time when it comes to AAA games. Horizon looked better than anything MS showed for 2 E3's in a row. When you add in Spider-Man I don't even know what else needs to be said. Sony got me excited to play those games even though the wait will suck.

Microsoft had Forza and gasp! Gears! And as someone who has spent hundreds of hours in mmo's Sea of Thieves looks like a barren MMO lite experience. I would have been happier with Microsoft if they announced some Halo 5 SP DLC that fixes that crap campaign. It's almost like Microsoft has just said screw it and decided to stick to super safe stuff they can cram co-op into. The Phantom Dust announcement was an insult too.

I picked, other. Reason being is because they both were really good, just both going different directions. It's clear that Sony went Swarzennegger /Predator with their single player games. Hands down, the best in the business right now.

Microsoft went with a more well-rounded, robust presentation covering every Avenue that involved gaming. From Live features to games to hardware, to controllers and a vision for Xbox and PC cross play. Mine craft and Gwent (whatever the f*** it's called) nearly had me dial a shrink, but I survived it.

All-in-all, they both did very well for what each wanted to represent to their fanbase.

Sony killed it. Wasn't even close.

MS had a couple things that interested me -- the Scorpio announcement and the Windows/Xbox integration. I'm looking forward to seeing how both of those turn out. But the games themselves fell flat for me. It seemed like mostly a rehash of last year, with nothing much new. Doesn't help that I don't care much for their tentpole franchises. I don't think I'm the kind of gamer MS is courting.

Sony showed a bunch of games I really liked -- God of War (surprising), The Last Guardian (release date, hey), Days Gone (big surprise), Spider-Man (yay, me happy), Kojima's new game (overrated and pompous doof, but I'll buy his game), Horizon Zero Dawn (looking good), Detroit (looking much better than last time), and a Crash Bandicoot remake (I like the resurgence of these old games). There was also Abzu (beautiful), Bound (a surprise, also beautiful), and then visually stunning, original games like Gravity Rush 2, Nier, and Persona 5.

It was a great show. Almost pitch perfect.

The only thing I'd change would be to add more of the weird titles they have, rather than rely so much on games designed to appeal to the mainstream Western/European audience. While impressive, the games did have a sameness to them, when all lined up back to back like that. They have a lot more variety they could've shown.

Nintendo. Zelda was the only game that got me really truly excited.

I watched the MS conference on Spike TV, but only downloaded some of the trailers from the Sony conference and there were so many must have games shown for the PS4 that I must have, compared to the single game (FH3) that I liked for the X1. I don't care about the PS VR stuff, and I certainly don't give a poop about the goofy controllers that you can customize for the X1, nor did I care to watch developers talk about a console 18 months away. Even if some of the Sony games shown being shown were running on the Neo, it's at least better than MS showing no Scorpio games at all.

Sony easily won IMO.

Sony won quite comfortably I would say. Despite Forza Horizon 3 looking awesome there were a multitude of games which just looked on another level to Xbox's which is puzzling as Platinum and RARE are good developments but Scalebound and Sea of Thieves did not look that good.

Sony were swift in their conference and kept the talk minimal to points of only true significance but what I LOVED was they just let their games do the talking, they quite clearly felt the games shown were more than good enough to have no one talk about them and they were right. This conference more than anything illustrated just how important it is to curate top quality first party developers because they push consoles like no other. 4 in house studios games in Horizon, Days Gone, God of War and The Last Guardian which all looked fantastic they did not even need to show GT Sport or Gravity Rush 2. In addition two excellent 2nd party games in Detroit and Spiderman which showed very well. The most crazy thing about this conference is that Sony did this without their best studio in Naughty Dog, ooft.

Positive: Sony for presentation and variety of games.
Negative: Bullshots and showed games that will probably be at least two full years out.

Positive: MS for piquing my interest.
Negative: Really nothing of games I didn't already know and some looked underwhelming. Also, no Cuphead date.

Sony won, but I don't give them game of show.

I think Flynn won E3.

As far as Sony v. Microsoft (as I didn't pay attention to the Nintendo show at all and from what I've seen, it was one really good game and a half hour of Pokemon), I can't say either lost. Sony did what Sony did. They have games coming, and while I was watching the stream muted, you could tell they were quality games and certainly worthy of praise. They may not be here for a couple years, and they may be Neo games, but that's Sony: "We've got games coming, and you'll want them, and you'll get them when you get them."

Microsoft didn't have nearly the games lineup, but they talked hardware and the S is nice and Scorpio is going to be legit. More important than any games or hardware, though, is that they're showing that they've got the right focus again. They're going to be behind the curve on games in the short term, but this is essentially rebooting the Xbox brand and taking something that had gone off the rails, putting it back on track and turbocharging the engine.

I think if Sony's games were coming in the next 12 months predominantly, they'd have won. If MS had been able to even say that they had some special exclusives coming out for Scorpio, even if it's just concept video, they might have won. Both get an incomplete, though - we'll see what these shows mean in the next couple of years.

Microsoft won E3 in my opinion, But I think we have all voiced our opinion as to why in two other threads. I guess we have a third one now.

There's only been one other "Who won E3" thread/poll, and it got shut down early, before a lot of people had a chance to express themselves or register their vote.

Someone voted PC?

I guess I mean people were explaining why they thought one company won over the other, outside of these poll threads. McMasters said he picked PC.

I don't really care too much about new hardware at this point and Microsoft didn't show off much we haven't seen and no new IPs either. Loved Forza Horizon 3 but was a bit so so on Gears and Scalebound. Wish we saw something more substantial out of Recore.

Sony's conference should be model for all conferences in terms of pacing. They just went to game to game without doing lots of the typical "here is so and so from studio X" to introduce games. Enjoyed the reveals but missed seeing Dreams and the various Indie games.

Sony>MS>Ubi>EA>Nintendo (didn't see Bethesda)

Microsoft won it for me. While Sony had the better games, MS had decent games but better hardware and system announcements like improvements to LIVE.

Sony for me as I take it the games they showed were running on PS4 hardware and not Neo. Maybe the VR games were on Neo but I could give two s***s about that the idea of VR does not appeal to me. I'm sorry MS but I'm not impressed you got to bring out a new system cause you f***ed up so bad on the One. WTF happened to all that cloud stuff that would make the Ones power limitless?

To bad fair I also call BS on Sony bring out Neo in the future too f***'em both on the new systems so soon.

Sony easily had the more interesting games to me and I don't that they're a ways off because I have an endless backlog of games

I thought Sony killed it. Great job. But I do agree with Andy that a lot of their games started to bleed together.

I also think Microsofts showing is being underrated a bit.

Hard for me to pick I guess. MS games lineup for the most (all?) part we knew about. Looking forward to ReCore, Sea of Thieves, Scalebound, and Horizon 3 especially. The fact that most, if not all, of their first party games will be not only available but cross purchase with PC is amazing, as I plan on going back to be primarily PC. Now I don't have to worry about missing out on exclusives going forward.

Sony had games flying every which way. I agree with a previous comment about not having studio heads come out and drone on and on about the game, and just did trailer after trailer. Great pace to this conference with no dumb Minecraft garbage. I also agree that some of the games look very similar in art style; God of War, Horizon, and Days Gone especially. Even so they look to be great games. They also had the surprise of the conference with the Resident Evil 7 reveal.

On the PC side I didn't get a chance to watch the whole event, but I can at least add in Microsoft's Play Anywhere as a positive, as well as a few exclusives including Vampyr, Quake Champions, and Dawn of War 3.

As someone that has all consoles and gaming PC, I can't really say there was a winner as all three has great experiences on the way.

This is how I feel. Due to the pre-E3 rumors and the current market situation MS was the only company that HAD to do something; which was to announce new hardware in the relatively near future that was going to be equal to or exceeding the Neo's specs. Anything less was going to be a major letdown. They did that, even if the Sony software lineup was definitely more interesting and diverse overall.
