win 10 not free for everyone

I'll just see what happens come the 29th. I have Windows 7 now so if I'm reading correctly I think I'm safe.
 
Not sure what is confusing.

Windows 7 & 8.1 users get a free upgrade, period.
Those who are part of the preview program can have W10 free, as long as they carry on helping to test W10.

So in essence, nothing has changed.
 
I've got my copy reservered,Question is how do I do a clean install after the installation? I don't want my old windows files to transfer over to the new windows. And after I install windows 10 I'm going to dual boot windows 10 & windows 7 since I still have my product key and cd for windows 7
 
I have Win 10 preview on one computer and I am reserved on this computer. =)
 
After the clarification, I think what Microsoft means about Insider status and free license is this: Windows 10 is entirely free for Insiders who agrees to upgrade to new, unstable builds once a month. If you have Windows 7, 8.1, or 10 serial, however, there is no such limitation.
 
Yeah I have that icon on my gaming rig and my laptop. Only going to get 10 on my rig though. My laptop runs Win 7. My rig is running Win 8.1.
Just want 10 for the DirectX features.
