Patty Jenkins Gives Wonder Woman 3 Update at DC FanDome

During Saturday’s DC FanDome event, director Patty Jenkins revealed that work on the upcoming third Wonder Woman film has officially begun.

Wonder Woman 1984 gave me a chance to do a lot of things that I couldn’t accommodate in the first movie. I was so happy to tell the Wonder Woman origin story. It was almost her birth, but we really haven’t seen what she is capable of. It is exciting for me to show her at the peak of her strength. But it is also very important that she fights an internal struggle: she is a Goddess and tries to help humanity. She is not only someone who fights evil, she tries to show bad people how to improve. It’s an interesting dilemma. The next one is probably my last Wonder Woman movie so I have to put everything I want to show there. We have to think carefully.

I had read about this earlier and thought if true, better that P. Jenkins is gone. Producing a film is a collaborative endeavor especially one as expensive as this wouldn't been. If she's not going to be a team player or at least listen to other opinions then she's not the right person to direct this or any film. Its not like she's J. Cameron who has hit after hit to back up his process.

I say, Gunn should fire everyone and blow up the DC film house and start from scratch. I'd miss Cavill, Man of Steel is the best film among the DC flicks. But they have waited too long and no one cares about MoS anymore.

Get writers in a room and outline the vision going forward. They don't need completed scripts for that but they need to get to one vision and then use individual films that bring that vision into reality one film at a time.

Justice League should have never been made. Batman vs. Superman should have never been made. Warners needs to stop looking for instant success and do the work that it takes to build up to something special.
