X1 COD Ghosts Unboxing

It's things like this that I will miss going all digital.

the first COD I will legitimately have to decide if I'm going to buy

(probably passing -- have bought every one since COD2)

I stopped buying special editions years ago. We can't afford it. Besides, if I was going to spend that amount of money on games in one go, then I'd much rather purchase two or three games instead.

Can't wait to start my PS4 gaming generation the same way I started my 360 gaming generation; with COD. Hardened Edition for the win.

Same for me but switch Ps4 with XB1. Getting a Ps4 at launch though as well.

Right. From now on the limited edition/collectors editions will include avatar items.
As funny as this sounds you are probably right.

Only other thing I can think of is limited time map packs or expanssions for those willing to spend an extra 20 bucks or so.

I just think all these steel books and collectors editions at launch for the next gen consoles will be worth something.

Forza 5 Limited Edition
Watched Dogs Collectors Edition
Assassins Creed 4 Collectors Edition
Call of Duty Ghosts Prestige Edition

Those all have steel books and I have them pre ordered. Also have RYSE and Dead Rising 3.

You can say that again for me too. I just preodered me a Surface Pro 2 256gb 8gb Ram and already got my Xbox One Day One edition with an extra controller. I'm still needing to preorder the games though. Probably B4,Ryse,F5,Crimson Dragon hopefully.

Wow @mb1025, it's going to be an expensive holiday season for you.

I'll do my best cuz I'm no tech geek. The Surface 2 looks like is worth it . I don't know if you checked out the full Surface 2 presentation but if not you definitely should. I loved it so I when all out and went for one of the top ones 256gb,512gb being the top one.

Youll have to tell me how you like it. Ive been debating on if i should upgrade my SurfaceRT.

might need to convince my work to buy me one of those Surface 2's...

Geeze. Would it have been an issue to wash your hair and put on some nice clothes for the camera? Go back to bed hippy.

Gosh, just looking at what I will be spending for XB1 I'm going to be poor! Console: $499, at least one extra controller:$59, DR3, COD, Ryse, (probably battlefield 4) would be another $236 just for games. WOW, that's a grand total of $841 bucks after taxes!:surprise::surprise::smash::smash:

Okay, so maybe I will have to cancel my PS4...

Just try and take comfort in the fact that you will be far from the only person broke this holiday season.

Yeah, throw in a PS4 on top of that, and add in a few more games on that system. My wallet will hate me, but my addiction will love me.

I plan on getting every launch game before the end of the year.

BTW anyone notice the steel book case is a DVD case and not a Blu Ray case? I wonder if they are sticking to DVD cases.

Hands On: Call Of Duty: Ghosts On Xbox One | Press Start Gaming Australia – Gaming News & Reviews for PS3, 360, 3DS, WIIU, VITA & PC
It’s getting closer to that time of the year where the new Call of Duty is released and I was lucky enough to get my hands on some play time. This years release promises a complete overhaul of the whole game with a new game engine, a campaign promised to rival that of Hollywood action blockbusters and a completely redone multiplayer.

We got an in-depth look into the new multiplayer and got some serious hands on time with some matches on a few of the new maps and new game modes. This year they’ve introduced “squads”, where you can customise up to ten soldiers and prestige each one, ten soldiers equals ten levels of prestige. In Ghosts you can fully customise your soldier, from the camo they wear to their patch, even choose whether they’re male or female, a first for the franchise. These squads can be used in all the new squad game modes.

After watching a few videos and a short presentation on the game, including a fly over of the an unreleased map titled “Stonehaven”, we got stuck into creating our soldier and load out. This year Infinity Ward took some ideas from Black Ops 2 with their new 8 point perk system, where you pick a selection of numbered perks adding up to 8 points, and the new weapon class titled the “marksmen rifle” a hybrid between a sniper and AR class.

Getting stuck into the action, the game looks amazing. Thanks to the power of the Xbox One, Ghosts pushes the limits more than ever before. The team have made a new game engine that allows them to make their entire game run smoother and more beautiful than ever. The maps are more detailed than ever and still manages to run at a crisp 60fps. Not to mention how great the new controller fits in your hand, it feels lighter and is easier to navigate around.

And with the new game modes they’ve added, the action is nonstop. We got to try the new “Blitz” and “Cranked” game modes, Blitz being a variant on the old favourite capture the flag and Cranked is the standard team death match with a twist. To score points in Blitz all you have to do is run into the opposing teams portal which teleports you back to your home base, starting the 10 second cool down before you can score again.

In Cranked, as soon as you score a kill you become “cranked” and a thirty-second countdown begins, once you’re cranked you run faster, reload faster, and must score another kill before the countdown reaches zero or you blow up. It makes for a fast, frantic and action packed game that I can see people loving.

After leaving my first thought was I honestly can’t wait till November to get my hands on Ghosts, the new game is surely going to be a top seller for the year. It looks great and feels better, this is why COD has become one of the FPS heavyweights and continues to do so.

It's worth it 60 bucks for the game then u get all the map packs 15 bucks times 4 is 60.
So 120 is the cost of game and map packs plus u get cool stuff

The box setting looks good. I won't get it, though. Only the regular version.

I only got Black Ops II. No DLC thus far. I felt like it isn't worth the investment this time (I did bought the entire DLC of MW3 when I was a member of Elite for a year and a half).

I'm on the fence about this one. I haven't played any of the past few CoDs, mainly because I was just burned out on them. After reading the cover story of this month's Game Informer though, my interest has peaked a bit. Still, I'll wait for reviews.

The same. As a personal observation, i feel DLC creates fragmentation among players.
