I put this thread here because it's PC related. Anyone know if the XB1 controller can be used on pc the way the 360 controller can?

Also, how does the controller compare to the 360 controller, especially in terms of accuracy and dead zones?

And if not XB1 controller, how about PS4 controller....work on pc?

The pc version of the Xbox One controller hasn't come out yet- all of the press releases indicated '2014' but there hasn't been a firm date so far. Impressions of the controller have been mixed, the d-pad still has some issues and the should buttons aren't loved by many. However, the triggers are supposed to have a nice feel and the textured analogue sticks keep your thumbs from slipping. A few best buys have demo units set up, you might be able to get your hands one in person if you stop by.

Yeah, my BB has the controller and XB1 out on in demo display, but it didn't let me actually play any demo, it appeared to be stuck on showing game videos.

Other than bumper I can't think of a single aspect where XB1 controller is worse than 360 one. I'm still waiting for PC driver though.

The X1 controller automatically becomes wired when plugged in via USB. All that will be required is the driver when available. There is no separate version of the controller this time around.

For Xbox one we need the driver MS "promised us" should be this year hopefully.
There is hack if you look around to make it work. There will not be separated XOne controller for PC just drivers.

As for PS4 its easy if you have bluetooth on your PC you can add it in 2 sec with no driver as just regular gamepad.

If you want full functionality there is a fan based driver for PS4 that works as X360 and can use all the functions of DS4 even changing LED colors etc.. just look for DS4Tool 1.1
