He’s also mentioned that if he doesn’t post about it on his site then it’s just speculation and meant for conversation. I don’t keep up with him much but he does pop up on my feed from time to time, a lot of retweets or screenshots
No, I've posted worse things regarding this when it started to unfold. Exclusives are your identity. When you start giving it out, the identity gets lost. You guys all called for my head when I was trying to discuss this with the very first thread when the Xbox CFO hinted at doing this. Glad you guys finally see reality.
Xbox will continue to do well as their games will sell on other platforms to supplement their revenue and if they want to go full on third party , it may not be a bad thing for MS at least but the hardcore Xbox console only fans may (and should) be upset at this decision as big part of going into Xbox ecosystem were getting to play their great exclusives like Halo, Gears, Forza, etc.

I have owned a Xbox 360 and a X1.
I didn't need to own a Series after they started porting everything to PC now day 1.
You tell me what people will think if I posted the exact same message you just did. Therein lies the answer. People just see what they want to see and want to direct their anger at someone instead of at MS who are the ones who decided to do this. I'm not the one who's porting games and removing console exclusives. MS was doing it right under your noses since 2023 slowly yet you all were upset at the messenger.
I may not be as big an Xbox console fan these days because of these decisions but I don't want them to fail. I want a healthy competition. Heck, we subscribed to Gamepass for a few years now, I'm invested in the Xbox ecosystem. Just because I don't like the decisions that they are really making for console owners, that's why I have not bought their console but that doesn't make my opinion any more invalid than how you guys think.
At the end of the day, I'll go where the games are. And if Xbox ports them to existing platforms I'm already on, it will just be more convenient for me to access them there. MS will still get my money when I buy a copy and that's all that really matters IMO.

Can people play Sony published/PS games on PC, XB, or Switch? They’re also multi. If this strategy works out for MS and GP subs continue to go up, XB games that come to other platforms sell more and more, and they make more and more profits… Sony won’t want a piece of that pie too and bring even more to other platforms to get even more sales from all those consumers they’re missing out on by trying to stay just on PS. It’s the future of gaming no matter if we like it or not.
I’ve noticed every hobby and entertainment I do and consume over the years have all changed and each company shifts to keep up. I’ve also noticed a lot of people dislike the changes and shifts yet these companies do it anyway. Movies, Tv, now streaming, Sports watching it has all changed. It’s naive to think gaming will stay the same.
And pretending like you don’t troll MS/XB and those here that prefer it is hilarious. You’ve already admitted you do it because others here do it to PS. Funny you don’t post constant social media posts about Nintendo and what they’re doing all the time, but say you love to just kick start discussion. So why do you care if they fail at making Xboxes?
When was the last first party PS studio game to hit Xbox? Death Stranding was ported right after Kojima bought back the IP. The Show was forced to be ported by MLB for more exposure. But other than that, I don't see the mega hitters like Horizon, Ghost of, God of, Astrobot, Spiderman, Ratchet, Infamous, The Last of, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Bloodborne, Intergalactic etc. series ported to Xbox consoles any time soon.
The only ones I see going may be global brands like Lego or live service games like Marathon, Helldivers.
I'll be the first to admit it if it does happen in the future that I was wrong though about the narrative single player games also going.
I don't post Nintendo because I don't play Nintendo. I still play Xbox on PC and PlayStation's that is why I only post mainly about them. Notice I don't even go into Switch or Nintendo section much if at all because I'm not in that ecosystem.

That's the thing, I don't care. I just like to discuss about gaming in general and Xbox is part of that because I still play their games on PC. And when people ask me why I don't get the console, big part of the reason is MS's strategy right now. I don't need to because I can get the best of both worlds on just the PC (which I'm already on) and PlayStation for their console exclusives. And if MS continues to port out their exclusives to PlayStation, I can just buy and play them there or on the PC depending on the game. I usually play MP on PC and single players on consoles for the big TV and couch experience.
Destin, for what it's worth, think more are coming too and aren't bothered by the rumours because if you read between Phil's lines it's clear MS is directing the ship now with "higher expectations". It's the only way they can reach their lofty growth targets with the help of Playstation, Nintendo, handhelds, mobile etc. platforms especially with rising development costs now under Xbox's belt.
You brought up failure though, you don't care about hardware competition between MS and Sony.
You don't own an Xbox, you're not invested in the Xbox ecosystem. To you Microsoft isn't any different than EA or Ubisoft.

No I don't because MS has moved on now. The hardware competition has slowly dissipated starting from the end of the Xbox 360 days to now.
Xbox is more than just the console, MS clearly advertises that everywhere, so yes I'm part of the Xbox ecosystem because I play Xbox games on the PC platform. MS even includes them in their financial reports in the past to boast the player and engagement numbers.

I don't go out of my way. It's what pops up in my feed that's new. The more there's smoke, the more likely the rumour or leak is true. I can't control that. Ever since those rumours and article came out there were many that pressed the doubt button because they all know how crazy it sounds. Many said let's wait till it becomes official to discuss it. Here we are it's official with Project Latitude and Phil talking about it. And are we still trying to suppress this and we still can't talk about it? Come on now. Turns out it's true and you were really getting upset ultimately because of MS, not me or my posts.
