By another two weeks or so. I think this is a bad omen for this port.

Titanfall Now Coming to Xbox 360 on April 8
Since its debut on March 11, Titanfall and its adrenaline-fueled gameplay on Xbox One and PC has taken the gaming world by storm. I’ve spent many hours already dropping titans into the heat of battle and running along walls as a pilot, and I can tell you I am hooked. Our partners at Respawn have made a truly awesome and dynamic new experience that I will be playing for a long time to come.

The fan content that has been created so far has also been incredible. From taking out multiple titans with a perfectly timed Nuclear Ejection to pulling off one of the most impressive satchel kills to date, the fun that Titanfall delivers is clearly captivating the community. Those are just a sample – there’s a ton of amazing content on the brand new TitanWall launched by Respawn. Check back often for some of the latest and most entertaining new content from fans around the world.

Now, I want to update everyone on Titanfall for Xbox 360 in development with Bluepoint Games. I’ve been playing the game a lot, and it is fantastic. But we see a few things that can be made even better, so we’re giving Bluepoint a little more time to do just that and deliver an epic Titanfall experience for Xbox 360 players. Titanfall for Xbox 360 will now be releasing on April 8 in North America, and beginning on April 11 in Europe. The game will feature the same 6v6 gameplay, maps, modes, weapons and Burn Cards as the Xbox One and PC versions of the game.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we get the last details right. See you on the Frontier.

Well, only needing antoher two weeks could mean alot of things. Thats not much time, so basically its probably finalizing trade offs in performance.

Hopefully they can lock the framerate at 30fps, even if its 600p

I like my near 60fps gameplay on Xb1, but whatever you guys are in for a treat with this game if they can get it somewhat smooth.

Could be a ploy to try and get more people to buy an XB1.

Honestly, since this wasn't a launch title, they really should have kept it next gen only.

Yeah, probably could have sold a few hundred thousand more consoles if it was xb1 only

Could be but I don't think so. I think this is going to be a crappy port and this is more time to try and improve it.

Yeah I would agree. At least the wise choice was taken to leave Respawn alone so they could develop the X1 version (after they specifically said their idea wouldn't work on the 360 either).

From all I've heard, they are trying to get the frame rate stable. Heard its been dropping consistently into the teens and for last titan standing its in the single digits. Remember it was originally gonna be a PC and 360 game (but both made my respawn), since its a 3rd party port on a weird schedule they are having to work with the constantly updating code from respawn.

The existence of the 360 version is weird in general. I get the feeling and this is straight from my ass, but I wouldn't be surprised if at one point the 360 version was the main goal for Respawn and that the X1/PC version were actually the ports that got re-prioritized within the past 1-1.5 years, while Bluepoint got hired to finish the work on the 360 version. Just my guess, but it would explain a lot.

As much as I like the game on X1, you can tell some things were last minute patch jobs, like the mutliplayer campaign for instance. I mean, after people finish them to unlock the two customizable Titans, there is literally no reason to replay them, it seems like a last minute tack on. Overall it just feels like the X1 version came in a little hot. Best multiplayer game I've played in a long time, but I feel like they probably wanted to add a lot more and hopefully the DLC helps them realize that fully.

I view the Campaign as a different multi player mode. It's mixed game mode with set maps in a rotation and have beaten it four or five times now. I quite enjoy it, especially that IMC mission where you drop in from orbit during the space battle.

I wouldn't doubt this one bit.

Anyone know what they can accomplish in two weeks? Seems like a curious delay. Is there any footage of the 360 version yet?

Perhaps it's to work on a day one patch?

The game must have already gone gold.

I joked in the other thread they would just cancel it, so I'm very very not surprised at this news.

It's a bit of a nebulous question given we don't know what they are delaying it for (other than a vague reference to improve the game). I'm leaning it toward this being a day one patch and needs extra work.

Probably gives them enough time to stick a 3 day XBL pass in all the boxes.

lol

Any more delays and this is shovelware

Shovelware tends to not get delayed over and over but rather is shovelled unceremoniously out the door with little care.

It is clear that Respawn does not want to shovel it out the door in its current state. They must care about the game's quality as these delays come at a financial cost from the logistics, marketing and promotional changes required to ship the game on a new date.

Shovel!

Is Respawn in charge of the overall 360 version? I thought it was being developed by another studio?

This is the craziest news. I have no idea what they could possibly accomplish with two weeks. Maybe it's to work on potential server issues? There's a HUGE user base that could potentially jump on the servers with the 360 version.

The 360 version has got nothing to do with Respawn (even they will say so). This is EA and whatever that development company is.

You could do a lot in 2 weeks. Maybe they found a few big bugs in a final round of testing. Maybe somebody showed them a more efficient way to do something that ultimately leads to more stable frame rate...could be anything.

Yes, Bluepoint.

It is ultimately Respawn's IP and they have a say on even the port they didn't work directly on. They would still be working with that team in some capacity because it would be impossible for a port to get made otherwise. Didn't they hand pick Bluepoint for the job?

They don't want a bad Titanfall port shipping out the door just as neither EA or MS do.

Technically, it's less than two weeks, since they'd still have to print the discs and ship em to retailers, unless it's already gone gold and they're working on a patch.

Well yeah, they will have some input. That goes without saying. But they have already said the design choice for porting the game is entirely up to Bluepoint.
