I just can’t get into Nier Automata. Thinking about moving onto either DMC5 or Ace Combat 7

Decided to move on to switching between Journey to the Savage Planet and My Friend Pedro

Nier automata just has that game magic, the magic that when it clicks, you just can't put your finger, like Mario and Zelda.
When you dissect it, it really isn't impressive (outside of music) but when it gets going it's just pure bliss imo
Great game.

I didn't care for Nier. Beat it 3 times like people said you had to in order to appreciate it. I never learned to appreciate it. Boring combat. Didn't think it was interesting to look at Not into anime. To each their own though.

Damn I can't imagine beating a game I don't like even one time. Is it short or something??

I’m playing it on Hard (the game mode! Ha.), and the very first part of driving me nuts because if you die before you beat the boss it brings you all the way back to the opening sequence. Argghhhh.

Not that short. People kept telling me my mind would be blown and I felt like I went past the point of no return. 2nd and 3rd playthrough's are shorter than the first. 3rd felt more like an epilogue. Was very different. So the investment after the first time wasn't too crazy.

To be fair, what people love about that game is the story. To appreciate the story, you have to pay very careful attention and not be turned off by anime. I respect the story. Anime is just not my thing. I can't get past anime over-dramatic dialogue. The creator of the story is very talented for sure. So I wouldn't talk people out of playing it. Give it a shot and if you're kind of digging it after a few hours, you'll probably love it later. Original story telling for sure.

Not gonna bother with Nier, i didnt know it was open world like, with boring side missions

also after playing FF7 Remake, the combat/bosses feels dull in comparison

I really liked Nier, not to spoil to much, but the story opens as go through with different characters and see different perspectives on events. I really enjoyed the story, especially being locked down as we are. The open world isn't huge at all. Not at all like other games. You can easily navigate it quickly.

That’s awesome, I actually didn’t play much RDR 2 so this works out great

Frick, I think major goofed, i got a notice from him on twitter stating the game will be out today, but when I went to copy the link it got deleted....I shoulda screen cap’d it lol

Yea I never got round to finishing it too, everyone says it gets better so will have to jump back in finish it.

I was in no rush to get to it been waiting on a good sale. Looks like I’ll be checking it out now. GamePass keeps knocking it out the park.
