Swaths of people upset that a game or feature doesn't work for their xbox, only to find out that they have a One S or One X not a Series S/X and they didn't know the difference.

I think Sony realized consumers are dumb early and stuck with the simple numbering pattern for the PlayStation. Nintendo had to learn the hard way with the Wii and Wii U and have made clear definitive breaks in generations. Its time for Microsoft to do the same.

Imo if someone has no idea what they own and what it does that’s on them. Information is at our fingertips if you take the time to look it up. I’ve never been uniformed on a purchase on anything that I can remember going back to my 20’s.

I also agree they should keep the next XBox name something simple.

Also some delusional people always thought that this would be sustainable , it's not with day 1 on Gamepass as a lot of others already saw the damage on sales it has done. Sooner or later the expenses WILL add up and catch up to you and MS will need to pay their dues. Either through passing the cost to the consumers (which they tried last year with huge Gamepass price increase and it has backfired now) or they started porting their games to other platforms to cover up that deficit.

Makes sense. Helix is probably a year and a half away at the earliest. I know in the past, gamers complained about it being debuted too early.

It also makes sense for them to show the Switch and PS logo on games that are not just on Xbox. They have a huge team for each game making a PS port (Call of Duty, Diablo, etc), and they deserve to have their work put in the spotlight as well.

Exclusive Xbox games obviously won't have those platform logos.
