Hmmm. There’s a possibility of that, but no one outside of Xbox knows what they have set up. I doubt they’ll market the option to access pc digital stores. It’ll be a “if you know you know” thing. There’s tons of people who don’t know game pass is a thing, same goes for other platforms, my coworker didn’t know about Nintendo online and the free games there. Granted he bought it for his kid and still buys games physically, only, they only play Nintendo games there, doesn’t even care about cod coming.

I don’t see why the helix is predicted to be 1000+ when the ps6 is the same premium like device. It’s going to be more powerful than a ps5 pro and if it is released in the current rampocalypse, that’ll most likely last another two years, it’ll be north of 900, I doubt they’ll want to take a hit, especially if they continue to produce PS5s so they can say they sold more than the ps2 and switch. Both of these “premium” consoles and are turning into “boutique” devices that will be looked upon as a cheap alternative to a pc, unless they’re looking at MacBook neos and the new dells and surfaces. Besides PlayStation atm knows they could sell their consoles for an additional 100 usd tomorrow and people will pay for it.

I’m with you all the way up until the price. That’s a nice number, but with SSDs, NVMEs, and ram prices up at least 200% for each they’ll be losing big numbers. I think maybe only Apple has the power to be like “yo, sell me these pieces for this price for this many years with the option to continue it without change”, get it, and still sell good to great numbers, even if it’s dated
Helix is going to be more powerful, something like 25% or so, it's going to cost more to make and before the prices went through the roof for parts it was already supposed to be a $1000 console/PC hybrid. Supposedly Sony was more focused on price than MS when designing their next console, going for the power crown is pointless these days since you need a huge difference just to make it noticeable and these things are meant to be played on tv's not gaming monitors. Sony is also going to be selling a handheld for some stupid reason so they had to make sure they could have the games scale down from the console to the portable properly.

We will see, regardless though Xbox has lost market share the last two generations, why would anyone expect them to gain it in the next one when their brand is even less popular and it will be the most expensive console on the market? I think the market for next gen will be smaller all around, PS6 won't sell as well as PS5 either.

Please post where Xbox or AMD or Microsoft said any such thing. Thanks!

They've released fewer games in the last couple of years, of course they've sold fewer copies. GaaS bombs haven't helped either.
Nice to see PS is allowed to have excuses when they do something bad. XB though never, it’s always torches and pitchforks.

We were always told here PS gamers buy games. All those PS5’s out there yet exclusives not helping them in sales.
That’s why there’s remakes, not just to fill in the gaps but to support the devs, said Shuhei, for they took no major resources from devs to continue to make their new games.

I’m going to unblock that troll so I can see all the negative articles and negative social media posts he can find towards now PS exclusive sales struggles. Hopefully he keeps that same energy and not show he’s just a XB troll. Can’t wait!

Also doesn’t help that they’ve fired and closed a lot of their devs this gen
That's one reason why they've released fewer games lol. They bought Bungie which turned out to be a bad move, they had single player studios working on GaaS titles some of which were requested by the studio and most of those games have been cancelled.

They made a lot of bad choices on the software side this gen, they had a pretty good start to the generation but the last couple of years has been slim pickings. They've had a decent output but not like last gen, part of that is of course the length of time it takes to make games has increased but they've also made some bad choices.

More dancing around the subject by Asha. No straightforward answer yet. Maybe at the Xbox Show?

Queue the mental gymnastics coming that will agree again that exclusives are good 😊

Just as I said all along... those who parroted multiplatform once MS switched now say exclusives are apparently good again according to those who said they were bad as early as a year ago lol.

I still stand by what I said since the generation started , a platform/ecosystem needs exclusives in order to attract potential customers.

Next up is the majority of the Xbox userbase needs to open up their wallets and support not just with their mouths.

Have you bought Hifi Rush yet?

I don’t think they parroted it, they understood why it was happening, many content creators didn’t like it, some were against it, but they al understood it, heck even Colin moriarty didn’t like it and wants them to go back, because competition

That troll talking nonsense again? Only point some made around here was if you want more profits of course you want to release on more devices. Exclusives can’t cut it in sales when you’re constantly going up against gamers time that mostly just play COD, Fortnite, GTA, Minecraft, and sports games.

Many parroted it if you looked across the span of social media just like the same ones who are now parroting for the other way around. It is what it is.

I have not yet, too many games to play still lol. Maybe when there's a gap somewhere but these past 2 years have had so many good releases that keeps adding to my backlog >_<

I get the profit deal, but even then when releasing on other digital fronts or physical for other platforms they lose out on 30% when sold, but they lose more when sold in physical. And seeing there’s only been success with a few games it makes sense that they’re not being released, but then again it may have not been up to the former administration, they were just following orders, heck even Phil said it out loud, he had a look on his face like “this isn’t what I want”

And then there’s this…

He added, "We also want to be clear, our big multiplayer games, live service, games are going to continue to be multiplatform. If we've promised something to players already, we're going to honor that promise, right? And then we're going to really, I think Asha said it, we're going to make the right decision, not the fast decision."

There a bit in there about keeping promises. They only said that about previous promised announcements. Seems like anything new or existing that hasn’t been mentioned about going elsewhere could very well be console exclusive….but really exclusive for helix. Imagine elder scrolls 6 and fallout 5 being helix exclusive but they keep ESO and FO76 multiplatform, they may have to remake those games on unreal 6 so they could port it to switch 2.

Oh and side note, am I the only one just fining out now that Nintendo licensed unreal engine 5 for the new Yoshi game, that’s crazy!

But but exclusives are bad said some last year 😉

Chris Dring: I was going to ask, what makes Clockwork Revolution an Xbox console exclusive but not Senua? But I guess, is that because of that—this commitment you talked about to teams that.. before you made that decision?

Matthew Ball: No further comment.

Probably haven't decided that far yet for some titles. It's a see as they go thing it sounds like.

He wasn’t on the team until recently tho

Deals would be in place. Though it would be no different to when 3rd party studios announce a game for consoles only to then move it to exclusive to one console.

Maybe he didn’t want to repeat himself?

It would be easy to say "commitments were in place for some of these titles but you can expect to say the majority of our future titles to be exclusive."

And Senua has an even easier answer "Both Hellblade titles are available on PS5 and we thought continuing that was the correct things for players"

Most likely they don't really a plan ironed out probably because of how last minute all this is so they don't can't really give a good answer. Which makes it easy for everyone to just insert whatever future they want to believe. "They are going back to full exclusive" vs "Gears won't sell enough and be on PS5 in a year"

I don’t know how accurate this is, most of it seems so, but I’ve dealt with logistics and distribution, we would charge/fine branches/managers if they weren’t ready and set for/with agreed schedules. My former boss was infamous and despised cos he gave no wiggle room, you’re either ready or you’re out lol

All this discussion involving XBOX is good IMHO. Keeping everyone on their toes and it seems to be more for the better. Keep this momentum going into the holidays and early next year....all the way to next gen.

Didn’t think about that, that makes sense. It’s like the universe is a never ending dance.
