Well, the media either needs to stop asking him for interviews, or he needs to turn them down.
I'm not even sure that's hype. It sounds like he's trying to prepare us for something different.
I don't know about others here, but I am really looking forward to the show. Then again, I enjoyed their 3rd party partner show.

It sounds more like a, "I hope you all like it." Type of comment.
But you're right. They did say that they would let the games speak for themselves.
That would put it in stark contrast to what he has been saying for a while, which is that they are very confident.
I saw it more like him trying to convey that he is aware of the memes around their games, his role has changed to allow him to see things as more of a consumer, and he believes their offerings have changed.
It’s a weird choice for sure. Not one I would have made to bring back from old IPs, but oh well.

I honesty think it will be the studio changing their name to a permanent name and then showing the title for their game.
