OK we all know how the xbox live pretty much work with xbox 360.

-Silver
-Gold

The Xbox Live service is available as both a free and subscription-based service, known as Xbox Live Free[6] and Xbox Live Gold respectively, with most features such as online gaming restricted to the Gold service. Prior to October 2010, the free service was known as Xbox Live Silver.

Now for the X1

Please correct me if I am wrong but the old days of every profile having gold or silver are over, its all about having XBOX LIVE on a console so that way many people can play no matter what.

Is it me or this feature destroys anything xbox 360 and SONY have for thier PSN?

PSN+ has free games so imo no.

If the free games with gold continues on the xbox one like it is with the xbox then I would agree.
Dedicated servers on xbox live is the killer feature for me personally.

The subscription is for your account and your primary console. So as a GOLD subscriber you will enjoy GOLD benefits on ANY console you logon to. In addition your primary console will also have GOLD subscription so ANYONE logging into that console can enjoy GOLD benefits. Yes, this is so much better than on Xbox 360. For PS4 I think Sony offers something similar.

I really don't care for the free games. I rather have discounts and offers for DLC etc. If there is any game I badly wanted to play, in most cases I would have played it. The free game offer in my view is a waste, I wish MS will give "credits" instead to spend on anything we wish.

They just have game "rentals". They are not free. You pay $50 a year to rent the games. You can't keep them when you are done renting them (paying the $50 a year). But the "rentals" are better than the actual "free" XBL games.

Some people will always have PSN+ and xbox live so I just consider them free games. I forget that alot of the welfare receipiants on forums consider $50 a year a huge pay wall.

Your gold and the console gold are not a separate cost, matter of fact you only get gold just for your console, users don't matter anymore.

pffft....whatever dude. True welfare recipients pay no mind to blowing other peoples money. Nah, you are just thinking of the frugal gamers.:p

while it's not even close to being as good as PS+ (you get games with that), it's way better than the 360 offering and i can only but hope that MS decide to keep the free game offer going onto the Xbox.

are you kidding me, this means noone need to have gold unless you have a console that have it, all the player need is a xbox live member.
That is a big difference and it will save so much money.

I wish there was some kind of choice between the two. That would be the true best case scenario.

Don't worry about Xbox Live on the One. It's safe to say Microsoft is about to hit another home run.

When its all said and done both services will probably be parallel to each other in about a year or two.

If PSN+ offers "free" games then Live will probably follow along. At the end of the day, they are both fighting for the same costumers who own both consoles but are only thinking of supporting one online service. They will use their primary console as their online machine and the other console as a backup which will most likely not be the online machine to go to unless they have enough cash to burn on both PSN & Live.

What do you do when your competition seems to have a better deal and tries to snatch your costumers? You come back and you up it. Then it's a back and forth tug of war. You up him, he comes back and ups you, then you come back and up him and he returns to up you.

Never ending parallel lines.

they wont be in parallel, XBOX LIVE have and always been years ahead of SONY for the only, people will spend more money for PSN+ then those for XBOX LIVE

1 PS4 with 4 PSN+= $200 for all 4 accounts
1 XBOX ONE with no matter how many people with all it needs it gold for the console, not the users.

I have 5 people with xbox live account, I am still running the family plan till Feb. But I dont have to buy 5 accounts just buy 1 account for the console and everybody can play it. Which is $60 per console not users.

But you are talking about today I'm talking about tomorrow. Sony has been getting busy lately trying to give MS some serious competition in every angle so don't expect for them to all of a sudden stop.

I believe next gen will be a b*tch slapping contest for both platforms. Neither will want to stay behind the other. This is not 2005 when Sony took MS lightly due to the Playstation being the bigger and more established brand for home consoles. Not to mention that Sony wasn't focused on online gaming as Microsoft was with the launch of the 360. This is 2013 and today both brands are a powerhouse and neither one is going to go lightly on the competition. So I do expect them to be somewhat equal in terms of what they will offer even on PSN and on Live. We are living in an era where online gaming is growing and growing so expect both companies to attack it the same. Both consoles were made with online being heavily influenced this time around.

When both systems launch they will put the gloves on and that includes deals/package online and offline.

no that doesnt matter how you put it, SONY will always be years behind MS in software that have been proven for many years.

Just look what happen with SONY walkman vs Apple Ipod.

This is one area that SONY cant touch and I was not talking about today I am talking the whole next gen.

Oh, I see what you are saying. That's something that Sony should adopt also. What they can't adopt though, is dedicated servers for all games. That's the kicker.

so you think each user on PS4 will have to pay for PS+ to play online.

show me where $ony said that?

Anyway, in regard to how Sony is going to handle multiple accounts on PS4, I'm assuming it'll be like PS3. But, if you want your own stat tracking and what have you, by that I mean I want to play BF4 under "blue," my roomate under "red," red is going to have to pony up for a Plus account. That's what I'm assuming anyway. I don't think I've seen anything official on it.

That is how I am looking at it, like Xbox 360. But the new live 3.0 is going to be much different. Another reason why is worth $100 more

Well, unless you live alone. Maybe with a cat. And have no friends. Not really worth the 100 bucks then.

I can be wrong on all this about the PSN+ but XBOX LIVE is changing with only a console going gold instead of users which is why they got rid of the family plan.

I really have no idea. I was just speaking in regard to PS3/PS4. I know that doesn't really help me though, because my wife doesn't play games. I don't like sharing anyway. Pretty cool though if you live with a few people and get along well enough not to lose your s*** when it is YOUR time to play BF4.
