Xbox One "Crazy Bandwidth" A Benefit To Developers Says Microsoft

If you don't have to reveal your sources, and you have the NDA excuse, you can pretty much blow anything out of proportion or even lie, and no one will ever know. Whether or not ESRAM is an issue is irrelevant; they're going to make the games. whatever. I notice no one has made any direct comparison to the difficulty of building for the Cell. Sony fans are desperate for the situation to be the reverse of last gen, and it's just not working out that way.

Noticed that too. They go through great lengths to try and prove that Sony has Microsoft beat--which in reality isnt the case. Yet, when not based in reality I guess one could say Sony just craps innovation all over Microsoft's door step. *raspy laugh* Hee....hee...hee...

I'm not sure but there definitely seems to be someone spreading an absolute s*** load of it around though. I don't remember any other generation with so much hate for a console. Pretty crazy mate....

Microsoft always get a crapton of hate, some of it deserved, some of it just due to sour grapes from the old MS days, and people still holding that view of MS

That anti-microsoft hate campaign is really obviously being orchestrated by ~some one~. Is it bloggers doing it for hits, or is it, Sony, Google, Apple money hatting, I don't know, but it is real.

microsoft orchestrated it, unintentionally

If it's someone paying them for it then I can kind of understand, I mean, who wouldn't say no to a few extra bucks and easy at that?

But if this is just them playing favorites then they are some sad "adults". Which makes it worst is that these are the people the average joe has to rely on for neutral and unbiased news. Seriously, proffesionals acting like fanboy divas over which console makes their tummy get butterflies need to get fired/replaced.

I know old Nintendo stalwarts who still despise Sony with a fervency akin to a cold flame. Microsoft's heavy-handed and oft illegal marketing practices in Europe in their heyday there, earned them them the unenviable designation as the quintessential "Ugly American", and on the continent, it's been a hard image to shake.

Isn't 360 one of the easiest consoles to develop on ever?

If so why would x1 be the opposite?

Isn't the esram the next evolutionary step from the edram?

If so why would the Edram be way easier to develop on than esram?

Because the forum gods have made it so.

It's got to be Google.

All you read is how x1 is inferior in every feature and metric. Then I look at the games and ask "say what now?"

Honestly not worth the effort to respond to the usual fools. They don't know anything nor try to learn anything. Time is running out for them as November and reality is around the corner.

They already have hatched their escape plan. When multiplatform games don't look notably better on PS4 they will simply say it's because they are mere launch games and were made on unfinished hardware and devs aren't taking advantage of the PS4 and the devs are lazy, etc. If, God forbid, any multiplatform game(s) actually look or perform better on X1 the reaction will revolve around how MS paid off DF et al as shills to spread their corporate propaganda.

Just like with the PS3, it will take a while before reality sets in and in that time the goalposts will be long gone and everyone will pretend that it was always common knowledge and expected that the two would be on par visually.

Seems to be an air of desperation lately. Even at B3D you have the usual suspects working super hard to discredit the ESRAM and DDR bandwidth. Peak numbers are not good at face value for X1, only for PS4. Got to love the double standards. Love the extra special efforts by certain people that slip in some small parts of BS into an otherwise innocuous post as well to subtly apply their agenda.

That Durango thread has been super hot, yet most keep their cool in light of it all. Kudos to them. I've come to have some greater respect for them of late. Just seems to take along while for them to get beyond their regular understanding, just being a bit more scientifically progressive I guess.

It's not that it's the opposite I think, the X1 seems to be harder to develop for against the PS4, based on these rumours, not that it is harder to develop for than the 360/PS3. Now that could always just boil down to the X1 being a complex machine, whereas the PS4 is just simple :p lol

I would like to see the third party games compared to each other. I don't remember every single third party game beIng hidden like they have been this generation.

Not that I have ever cared that much about specs. I simply hoped that both would be a good as they could have been.

It's all how you interpret the English language. Xbox fans interpret answers to certain questions one way, others interpret their own way.

How can you people not see this?

Because this isn't poetry or Shakespeare that can be interpreted to mean different things. The person saying things isn't saying it ambiguously to be interpreted in multiple ways, there is just the way they were meaning.

That's not how human language works, unfortunately.

That's actually exactly how human language works, if someone says something they mean it one way, not multiple ways. If you interpret it differently than it is meant to be interpreted then you have interpreted it wrong.

People don't go around saying things in ambiguity.

The concept of interpretation may be too much for some. It's just a tad more complicated than that.

What does "comparable" mean to you? That word, like all words, can mean different things to different people.

Can one compare John Cusack to a pile of Dominos?
Can one compare John Cusack to Maria Sharapova?
Can one compare John Cusack to Jeremey Piven?

Clearly, when John Carmack said that the PS4 and XBone are comparable in terms of power, he left a little room for interpretation.

People may interpret things differently, yes, however only one interpretation is correct, both or multiple interpretations cannot be correct. It really isn't more complicated than that, people say what they mean, these people aren't saying things in tongue that is meant to be taken different ways in which each way is correct, they aren't using double entendre's or focusing us on reading between the lines. That type of stuff is common to stage performances, and literature, and whatnot, not to everyday speech.

Compare has a definition, it doesn;t have different meanings to different people, that is why we have things called dictionaries, to eliminate issues with word comprehension. You can compare anything to anything, doesn't mean it is a good comparison though, it would depend on the person making the comparison to set forth a set of circumstances in which things are similar.. What Carmack said doesn't leave room for interpretation, Comparable means that two things have enough features in common that they can be compared to one another, and his meaning was clear that in terms of power the PS4 and X1 are similar. Someone may agree or disagree on a variety of factors, but it doesn't change the meaning that was originally put forth.

Things like this...
Carmack said he hasn't done any "really rigorous benchmarking" yet but declared that the two systems are very similar, and both very capable. "It's almost amazing how close they are in capabilities, how common they are," Carmack said. "The capabilities they give are essentially the same."

..do not leave room for interpretation.

oh, because history has taught us 1 console was a breeze to program for while the other was a nightmare. (who would that be?) So now next gen a group of morons heard PS4 was a breeze* relative to PS3 so the roles are automatically reversed? It must be because of the esram not taking the extra brain cell from hating on xb1 to remember edram in 360? Why would common sense come into play to think X1 is easier then 360 now that ram isn't as big an issue as it was in the 360? It is hard for some to comprehend I guess a gen where both rival consoles are easy to develop for?

*As far as PS4 being a breeze I believe it is relative to PS3 but not vs xb1 due to the gddr5 playing as nice with the cpu as the ddr3 does from what I've read. Let me know if this is no longer an issue.
