Xbox One Hotchips revisited and XBox One Speculative discussion

I was referencing the radio broadcast and other supporting media of the time machine story. Not particularly saying it is make believe or what not, just brought up a scenario of it possibly being a modern WotW.

Regardless, again Mister___, PureSoul can do and say whatever they want, and it is neither crazy nor sane. It is what it is to them and can be shared as seen fit to. In other words, either discuss it more rationally than it has been, or ignore it. No need for some to go so critical with it.
However, doesn't the hysteria caused by the War of the Worlds reading raise a strong point about believing in nonsense, and the trouble it can cause? I think past a point, people's arguments need to have some degree of plausibility and sourcing. The onus is not on us to let puresoul and mrxmedia ride when they continue to post nonsense. The onus is on them to either reliably back it, or stop spouting it.

I could drown this thread in posts about chimpanzees founding AMD, and thus being behind the new XB1 design. But I don't, because it's implausible, and flies in the face of all current evidence. The rantings of some Russian guy with a website and a penchant for striking up conversations with himself should probably be treated the same way.

Not to turn in to one of the FUD spreaders, but I do happen to have a friend that works at MS, in the search division. I asked him if he had any friends in the xbox area. He said yes. I asked him if there was anything we dont know, he said he would see. Well he got back to me. His response was:
"I asked ********** about any of the rumors. He replied with :D, and told me to shutup and go away".
And to be honest, when he was working at my company, i caught him in a couple "lies" regarding his programming knowledge. Nothing serious, just tried to make it look like he knew more than he did.

I understand where you are coming from and you do have lots of great insight when you are not irate (?), but just the same, I don't think there is such a situation as you describe. People make it an active decision to read this stuff and make their own decision as to what it is. it is not like this info is being posted as articles across every major technical site and forum as fact with no one saying anything otherwise. Then if you do go past the language barrier and, let's say overactive, personal exuberance, there is plenty of viability to things he points out. So it can and should be taken as just an alternate look at things other than taking it at face value.

Hell, where is the anger at all the "professional" journalism and integrity with the s***storm leveraged against MS since May? There is something more apropos to your WotW situation than this stuff is.

Everyone wants to feel more important than they perceive themselves to be. Notice I did not say "are". ;)

I would definitely agree that the bandwagon MS bashing is reminiscent of WotW. Kotaku can't post anything these days without a hundred nonsensical reactions. The Xbox fitness thing was the most recent. That feature is a big deal to a lot of people, and it's not just a revamp of Wii Fitness; P90X and Insanity are the real deal, and you get them free for a year. But somehow MS is price gouging, or it's worthless, or (my favorite coming from these internet heroes) "why don't you just go outside and work out". The Japanese launch date was particularly amusing. "Microsoft is just giving up in Japan." Then Sony announces the same release window, and somehow it's sensible.

As for the XB1 rumors, has no one seriously thought the entire mrxmedia thing through? I mean, once? Or are people so blind to what they want to hear? By "think it through", I mean this, and this should be the complete end of the story for all time and forever: Why in the world would Microsoft pay AMD $3 billion dollars and not be able to tout their hardware advantage? Who could possible force them to sign such an NDA? Faced with an impending console war, or even if (as stated) this was in response to the backlash from E3, Microsoft would never let AMD dictate terms to them that would require them to keep their mouths shut about such an ENORMOUS power advantage. NEVER. And certainly not because Valve asked them to. Microsoft would have said, "AMD, no. we will now give that $3billion to Nvidia, as well as preferential treatment from now on in Windows." AMD, as the second fiddle to Nvidia, would do anything and everything they could to keep Microsoft happy. How could this purported NDA gag order EVER have taken place? Why couldn't Microsoft at least say, "we're more powerful, we can't say exactly why yet, but you'll see on this date", and then circle that date in big green chalk on the calendar? And why, why, why, and how, how, how, could an NDA POSSIBLY be extended without mutual agreement by both parties? And why would Microsoft EVER agree to do so at this point in time?
This is why it's so aggravating. The entire premise, that Microsoft can't talk about their $3 billion purchase because the second tier player in the graphics card market is "strong arming" them, just does not hold up to basic logic. I don't even understand why people keep playing math games with power supplies, or drawing in MS Paint on chip diagrams (or in Puresoul's case, just redrawing the diagrams himself to suit his beliefs). How can you even get that far, when the entire basis of your argument is completely devoid of logic and sense?

Sorry to rant, and I'm trying to not point directly at anyone with this, but this whole discussion is just exhausting at this point. Someone will need to push my wheelchair to the pharmacist for me so I can pick up my Viagra prescription.

I'm not a tech guy and I don't believe sh1t he says but he said something about apps that made me want to know how this works. How can a video card that is maxed out playing RYSE also run apps at the same time? How does it display them both? How would Ryse still be able to run while your going threw your dashboard from the video card perspective? Is this power that developers have to adjust for and add into when they make the game?Is there a limit on what you can run in snap mode?

Old guy you can always stop reading this thread or just ignore anything from mxm, because there is one thing I can say for sure; your rant is not going to change anything.

I think the whole situation is fascinating from a psychological point of view.

As has been previously mentioned by others, by posting links, quoting new blog posts and keeping this thread at the top of the page it makes this s*** stick around and provides misterx with more exposure and another platform for his nonsense to be visible. His blog seems to be gaining in followers every day due to this exposure (although I have no doubt some of those are probably trolls egging him on to commit to even more outlandish claims, wishing for a critical point where it all crashes and burns. Good luck with that, it's too far gone...)

This 'goes away', if you want to use that term, by not replying in these threads (guilty!), not trolling, responding to or taking cheap shots at puresoul (guilty!), not referencing anything from there anywhere else (thrice m'lud!). Every time we do those things, no matter how sincere or vindictive our motives, we are helping to promote (and I mean that in the loosest sense) his ideas, theories and incoherent, split personality, lies and tech ignorant bulls***.
misterx and indeed puresoul want validation and acceptance for what they believe. Like it or not, we are helping to achieve that by allowing it to sit in full view amongst daily discussion points and hot topics. That's not to say we accept the idea but we accept its presence amongst valid threads. If you really hate this stuff then don't get involved because you are strengthening the very thing you despise.

I was under the impression that 10 percent of the gpu was reserved at all times for apps? Just like 3 gigs of the dd3 is and some of the cpu cores.

Don't you use SKYPE for your party chat. I was wondering how the hell it could play the game and run 8 people in skype or maybe when your in party chat for a game you don't have the video part.

But would it make life more fun........everybody likes the slow kids.

Personally I leave it open because I like watching people get their hopes up on false information and the need for unrelated things to mean something more than it actually does teehee.

I say we vote on making the site a banned word :p or banned reference or something lol.
I suppose that is fair for a vote as we used to censor VGCharts once upon a time. But as Zomb said, if you don't want to see it, stop responding. This can be taken care of itself if everyone acts more maturely. Personally, I have no issue with it and welcome it as it keeps to itself and you do not see the source of this necessarily going into every thread.

Plainview, is there the ability to mark a thread as ignored so that people can choose to not see certain threads in their listing? Maybe that is a simpler way to do things.

I was just thinking about that so that the 'news' from that blog wasn't quoted here or any articles that sourced it,as it is clearly based on false information, like VG

I do like the possibility of having a thread level ignore feature.

PLAINVIEW!!! :)

Here's a different perspective. It is Microsoft who are upholding the nda because the do not want steambox undercutting them. I would imagine they wait for release of base steambox unit specs.

I agree that we should let this sleeping dog lie. But I had to add this. Evidently, and I'm 100% not making this up, "parasite" had this to say over on mrxfiles's website:

That is 100% correct.

R9X280. They even show it.

R9X280.
8+2+0-9= RX1. Retail X1

Honestly, when I was pointing out the connection between this kind of speculation and numerology, I thought it was a bit of a reach on my part. Evidently I didn't reach far enough. You can't make this kind of stuff up.

So regardless of rumors/speculation, would I be correct in saying that when one of these tech sites finally pulls an X1 apart, we will know all the details for sure? Or is it possible that the 'sum is greater than the total of the parts'....? Meaning will looking at the hardware tell the whole story?

Software and optimization along with architecture plays a big part, but we will know the limits of the hardware

Yeah, that is a bit out there. But I've seen crazier come true around technology stuff, so one can never truly know.

Scary, huh?

I don't why but something tells me that Microsoft have another spec not in the X1 but in the cloud. Like an extension to the X1, maybe that is why they said it will be more powerful down the years.

Just a crazy idea.

Wow, that is some f***ed up magic math. Seriously..I can't even wrap my head around how they would have even come up with that BS.

colbert-jaw-drop.gif

If they disassemble it too soon, it won't give time for the nanobots downloaded from the cloud to reprogram themselves into the second GPU, which because of the NDA update has had to be pushed back into December, so it'll be a Christmas day present for XBox One owners who trusted enough to keep their machines plugged in and online.

LOL!..........well, more or less.

September 29th= 8 29 2013... 8 + 2 - 9 - 2 +1 + 3= 3...half life 3 confirmed exclusive...secret sauce discovered.

if "parasite" can do it so can I
