Xbox One multiplayer team interview and demonstration!

Awesome. Good to see MS lead the charge with dedicated servers. I can live with playing with some P2P lag here and there, but the biggest gripe I have is the host bolting so the game bombs out for everyone. I know some games have host migration, but even that can be sketchy.

And hopefully dedis cut down or eliminate cheaters/modders. CoD 4 and WaW got ruined with god mode hackers around 2011.

Looks like X1 will continue having the best online. The crown is retained! Woo hoo!

Dedicated servers - awesome (esp for cheater/mod elimination)
Matchmaking - hope it works well
Achievements - great
Cloud gaming/saves - can't wait to see it utilized
Gold sub - am I to believe my family no longer needs a separate paid sub for each of us? I was paying $100/yr with the family plan.

offtopic - why aren't we seeing any Sony company videos explaining their new features?

I just want to know if every game is gonna have dedicated servers or not.

I believe every game has the ability to have dedicated servers seeing as how Microsoft made the service so cheap for devs looking for that option.
Yeah from what I've been hearing, it's up to the devs but the option is accessible to all.

Yes its up to the devs but its one of the tool sets available to use with LIVE. Removing server upkeep requirements should make it a lot more attractive of an option.

Not really understanding the smart match thing...

Traditionally with multiplayer games, you have in-game lobbies where you gather with friends, chat and get ready for your matches, but the way they're explaining this smart match thing is so vague and I wish they would actually show a sit down of the process.

The way they describe this is that it seems there are no longer going to be lobbies? To be honest, I used this feature in Super Street Fighter 4 while playing the single player and it became annoying to be in the middle of something and all of a sudden a pop-up came on and said a challenger awaits.

All of this MSFT public relationship speak is so vague.
