Xbox One X

How much other stuff has to be removed after getting the case apart?

Not very much honestly. This and Xbox One S are some of the easiest consoles to take apart as they are very modular. Xbox One X is a little easier than S though due to One S's clips on the shell. The shell on the One X is two screws and then it slides off.

You know the serial number?

In my Xbox 360 experience of deal with MS's RMA they migrated my serial number to my new console, but def was a new console as it went from Xenon to an Opus board.

Was that a RROD repair? I know mine was a refurb but that was totally fine with me, they basically sent a repaired one out the same day the broken one showed up and I got it within 5 days of sending the broken one in. Would be hard to ask for it to be any faster, was really happy with how it turned out, especially since mine was a different type of failure.

Yes, it was my second RROD repair. First RROD went back to Gamestop for their warranty exchange.

Mine came back with a different number. Like Jin mine came less than a week after I sent it in.

I remember 3 of my 360s getting the RROD. Kind of laughable, but at least they paid for it. Man, did they pay...

My launch 360 lasted until Gears 2 dropped, I got like 1 game in and it RROD'd. I got it MS warrantied by the skin o' my teeth

I had 2 die, first one went back to Gamestop for their warranty exchange on the first, second one went back to MS and they redid my console as an Opus board. That console lasted 5-6 years before I sold it. Still ran great at the time of sale too.

I still have the refurb'd 360. It runs pretty good except for the DVD tray gets stuck every now and then. One of these days I'll get around to swapping the drive out.

The drive is hard coded to the motherboard. You prolly just need to clean/replace the drive belt in it I had to do that to two of mine.

It can be flashed or whatevehs....when my tray bent, I found someone on Craigslist who literally fixed it right before me. Granted I ordered a new drive before hand, which was used.

I heard the English voice actor for Yuri is different now though, which is a shame. His voice fit the character perfectly.

If you're into Jrpgs or want to play a really good one. Tales of Vesperia is that game.

So I tried reformatting my 8TB external Harddrive on my wife’s laptop. It recognizes it for a couple seconds then it disappears. Tried a different USB cord off my other external hard drive and nothing. So basically I have a $100+ paperweight now... any ideas of something else I could try to get it to work? I’ve had it for 9 months I don’t think I have a warranty for it I ordered it through Amazon back in March.

Aren’t you supposed to have a year warranty through the manufacture?

How do you pause gameplay on the Xbox One X? Do you just hit the pause button, and the game freezes in position, then you come back later? I'm thinking of situations where I would like to pause gameplay, walk away for a couple hours, then come back later and start up right where I left off. Can I do that on the Xbox One X, without just leaving the screen paused for several hours (which doesn't seem ideal)?

On the PS4, you put it into "Rest Mode," and it powers down. Then you come back a few hours later, boot it up, and it starts right where you left off. That's kind of the function I'm thinking of. I thought the Xbox had this mode (in fact, I thought it had it before the PS4 got it), but I can't figure out where it is.

Just power down from the controller. Unless you full shutdown from the console button or switch games it will freeze the game where it's at. Unless it's something like destiny which will log you out.

How well or not putting a game to sleep works depends on the game. The console supports it, but some games just freak out when you step away. Games lose their online connection and go nuts.

In theory, you should be able to freeze the game until you start it back up or start up something else. In practice though I never really trust it.
