So, Hitman, Just Cause, Crysis + Crytek engine.
I'd rather know how many "teams" are making games for the console as we know that several of the studios at MS have multiple teams (i.e. Rare with SoT and Everwild; Playground with FH and Fable; Obsidian with Outer Worlds, Avowed, and Grounded; Ninja Theory with Bleeding Edge, Hellblade and Project Mara, etc.). Assuming those are all distinct teams (obvs some resource sharing/project oversight across projects) and if MS acquired the 3 studios above, they may have close to 40 teams making games. That's just nuts.Avalanche (3 studios)
IOI
Crytek
5 studios under 3 companies
Jez is sneaky because he has been using random shrimp pictures for things and insiders have also been doing it. Soo weird, but I think it ends up being nothing.
Nah....people need to keep these things in context. He isn't saying his direct sources are saying this. He hasn't written a piece on it as he hasn't claimed documentation like he did for the Kojima stuff. He's saying there's rumors out there. It is a fact that they were. He didn't break the story. That said, Grubb does break some stories with his sources. If this ends up not being true then its time to stop talking about Grubb. It will be too much wrong in too short of a time frame.
Couldn't give a crap about more purchases to be honest. They announced loads and we have seen f*** all from them or XGS as a whole really. Need to be showing stuff they have.Nadella went on record this week to set the table that there will be more acquisitions soon. There's a real energy around Xbox at Microsoft. They are 100% serious about building up a content pipeline to reach numbers unfathomable under just console. People will need to get out of this mindset of what is needed to support a good console first party. They've strategically moved beyond that. That said, I'd expect maybe 1 or 2 announced at E3. There's going to be a huge spotlight on Bethesda there. Not only is it unlikely they want to dilute that, they want news throughout the year. They have a lot of Netflix influence. Also these types of deals take time to iron out. WB is very complicated due to their structure and IPs. WB does want to divest themselves from gaming so you don't even need to be an insider to put all things together and think they're talking. You also don't need to be an insider to assume Sony and other big publishers are showing up at the fire sale.
I say all that to temper the idea that they're going to announce tons of studios Sunday which will include WB. Expect a really solid show. This isn't 2018 where they're trying to convince gamers they are committed to gaming any more. Nobody with a shred of common sense or awareness wonders about that these days. Expect another major spending spree to cover this next fiscal year (which starts in July) though.
I think we might see the first footage of Fable, State of Decay 3 and Avowed. Jeff Grub said Avowed probably won't be there, but some other leaker who's been legit has said it will be at E3.Couldn't give a crap about more purchases to be honest. They need to WoWing us with first party exclusives this Sunday, not spouting on about more purchases.
I doubt we will see Fable or Avowed or Hellblade, or Perfect Dark, or Forza 8(hope i'm wrong), maybe not even Everwild. These just seem to be too far off.I think we might see the first footage of Fable, State of Decay 3 and Avowed. Jeff Grub said Avowed probably won't be there, but some other leaker who's been legit has said it will be at E3.

The things coming from his source that were wrong was Elden Rings last Awards show and the Super Switch announcement. Both of those things changed. He's gotten much more right than wrong overall.

What do you think these purchases turn into? AAA games generally take 4 to 6 years to make. It continues to fill the pipeline for the future. There's never been a short term answer outside of moneyhatting temp exclusives....which do nothing for me.Couldn't give a crap about more purchases to be honest. They announced loads and we have seen f*** all from them or XGS as a whole really. Need to be showing stuff they have.

And the Discovery thing doesn't go through until 2022. I would think Sony would get heavily involved in bidding for Netherrealm if that got put on the table.
Its not like Microsoft just writes a blank check. Its not improbable that Sony or someone else would value them more. They don't have to wait until the Discovery thing goes through. Question is whether Sony can outbid Microsoft. Good luck...I guess.
Fair enough. Starting off, there's more for Microsoft to lose since Sony has locked up Street Fighter and owns Evo. Sony basically ends the fighting genre on Xbox with that purchase so it'll be interesting to see who values them more. Its not like Microsoft just writes a blank check. And yet the problem still persists. What do you think these purchases turn into? AAA games generally take 4 to 6 years to make. It continues to fill the pipeline for the future. There's never been a short term answer outside of moneyhatting temp exclusives....which do nothing for me.
No reason to assume SF6 would be exclusive though.Fair enough. Starting off, there's more for Microsoft to lose since Sony has locked up Street Fighter and owns Evo. Sony basically ends the fighting genre on Xbox with that purchase so it'll be interesting to see who values them more.
He also said xbox live gold was going away before the Series X launch and that online play would be free, when I told him that is impossible because Xbox gets too much of their money from live and that maybe they were just going to finally remove F2P from behind the paywall as it always should have been he said "no, all of it will be free" then when it was later confirmed not to be true I asked him about it and he blocked me on twitter lol. I'm sure he knows some people in the industry but his info is spotty at best. BTW if his wiki is right the guy is in his 60's , doesn't matter just surprised me.Nah....people need to keep these things in context. He isn't saying his direct sources are saying this. Yeah I don't see that happening either and I don't want it to, that s*** needs to stop.In no world will 2K allow GTA 6 w. GTA Online 2.0 to be exclusive to one platform.
Stupid.
Mortal Kombat was not even on the table when WB was trying to sell their gaming division last time, they were going to keep the MK IP which defeated the purpose of buying NRS IMO. Yeah they had mentioned things about long term licenses but who wants to buy the team that's been working on MK from the start and then have to pay to keep making MK games once the license runs out or sharing the profits from sales with WB after they bought the dev etc. Mortal Kombat should be a multiplatform series. The only reason Street Fighter was exclusive is the same reason Dead Rising was exclusive to Xbox One, Capcom was in a bad place financially and those games wouldn't have been made otherwise, Sony paid for SFV to be made and MS paid for Dead Rising to be made etc. They don't have to wait until the Discovery thing goes through. Question is whether Sony can outbid Microsoft. Good luck...I guess.
It's not(according to rumors)No reason to assume SF6 would be exclusive though.
