I think Microsoft will announce the slim and then layout there plan to have a new box every 2-3 years with upgrades. That's when they say coming 2017 you will see the upgraded Xbox one.

They have to mention and it won't do anything to Xbox One sales of the slim is priced right.

I have no idea about those rumors, but if I had to guess it could be OG Xbox BC and (more likely) PC game compatibility, i mean the One may not be the equivalent of a high end PC, but it can assuredly run most PC games from 2007 and earlier. It would be a massive boom for the Win10/Xbox Store to have hundreds of PC games on their service. Of course the logistics of which would be insane with controller support and achievements.

If they somehow made a way for it to play games from GOG/Steam, the pants I will be wearing when I find out will be ruined, from both directions, and it'll be a small price to pay.

It's good, but unlikely. It's probably the best GPU you can get for PC, but MS has contracts with AMD so it will be an AMD GPU at over 5.52T FLOPS minimum (4x Xbox One).

With 7TFlops you can do this at realtime, which is a pretty close paradigme of good CGI and dare I say, Pixar:



The scorpio will be less flops, but as a closed box they are worth twice as much so it'd be like having a 12TFLOP PC.

As a comparison, Scorpio would be to Xbone and PS4 vanilla as Xbox was to Dreamcast and PS2.

MS need to give it at least 12GB of RAM though, it would be a huge waste and not a meaningful next gen leap if they did not and stuck with 8GB

New Xbox update is really nice. Cortana integration and voice recognition is so much better than the old way, it's not even funny.

Would you still say "Xbox, go to Netflix" or would you ask Cortana? I just opted back in last night so I haven't gotten the new dash (maybe it installed overnight?). I do know a certain five year old in my house would be very confused if I had to start saying different things to the box, though luckily it rarely understands him so far. :)

What I found interesting about the demo that Major did with all the features yesterday stated that you will be able to see the gaming status of friends playing games on Steam.

Every command starts with, "Hey Cortana" at the moment. Can't say for sure if it'll be that when it his public release, but for now that's how you initiate voice commands.

When you say, hey cortana, it puts your Xbox into listening mode and unlike the old mode that felt like guess work if you maybe weren't saying the command exactly, it gives you a visual representation of what it is hearing via text display.

Unfortunately, "Xbox On" is gone as well. The only positive change there is that when you say, "Hey Cortana", your Kinect light turns on to let you know that it is on listening mode for the "Xbox On" command, such seems to pick up the command easier now.

Best change so far might be to My Games and Apps tho. Everything about it is just better, runs faster, easier to navigate, easier to sort, install section isn't all the way to the right where you need to scroll past hundreds of games. Detailed downloads. Lots of win.

Naturlich. I'd call a 3rd person rpg, built by an external partner. Or a Halo 3 remake, either way there will be something for 2017 for the Halo 6 beta to latch to.

No I was in the preview programme. Didn't realise till yesterday I had to re-register to be in the new wave. I am now at the 'Pending' stage
 
Just an FYI. This round of preview depends on your level position as a tester. Supposedly, if you are a low level, you might be waiting a bit. You spoof recurve a message at some point if you are up to bat... or at least that is how the first wave went anyways.
 
Nope I always gave feedback and completed the survey and tasks.....I simply misunderstood the message I received about the new wave last week and assumed I was still in the programme.....no problem I am sure they will let me in. Still pending this morning though

Try doing a hard reset, let it sit off for a minute, then power it back on and manually check for an update. Worked for me.

Edit: Just so you guys know, there are plenty of bugs floating around in this build.
