Yeah. Regular priced games have been the same $60-ish for ages. Seems like the one industry where prices never go up, yet people still complain. Actually, going way back to the cartridge days, Genesis/SNES games were actually $60-70 in the US and here in Canada (due to lousy exchange rates) $70-90. Some of the big games that were 16 meg or so were $90+. And N64 games were around $90-100 here. Phantasy Star 2 and Sword of Vermillion were $120 cdn due to that uber expensive "battery back up".

Ooh, I totally forgot about Sword of Vermilion! I used to love that game!
Not to mention many games back then could be beaten in under an hour.
Now we have games that cost exponentially more to make, are laughed at of they are under 6 hours, have to have years of support with online components, remain 60 bucks, and people still bitch about DLC.

It really does. I was thinking about that earlier. If MS continues to give 2 games a month, and we'll low ball it and say these are $10 games, and let's say 3 months out of the year are complete duds: That's still a $180 value. Even only 1 game a month at $10 is still $90.

Honestly, I would rather live be free and that £40 saving went to a game I actually want. Since GWG started there has not been one game I would have brought. Even for the years that PS+ was going there was no real value to me since all the games were old(which meant I had already brought them) or they were games I did not give a crap about and never would have brought.

and before one of the ardent MS lovers gets on their high horse, I am not complaining about live costing money.

Well..what game would you have liked to see offered through GWG? Hitman Absolution, Streetfighter 4 AE, Dark Souls, Dishonored. That's a pretty decent offering imo.

Maybe it's just me but I sometimes like it when games go up for free that I would regularly have no interest in. Gives me a chance to play some hidden gems. Take Guacameele for example.

Was that as far as you read ? see just after it in regards to PS+, old games I already played. Remember the point here is not quality of games being offered, it is when they are offered. I am not even complaining about it either, just stating that it being great value is not a constant, it does not apply to all.

Relax. No point in being defensive. I posted a legitimate question. So your anwser is: a new or recently released game.

Menace is just frustrated that his particular interests aren't being catered to. If he's not interested in it, then there's no possible way that other people might be interested. Right?

Who said nobody could be happy or interested with it ? Nobody, take your histrionic bulls*** elsewhere.

Has someone got their cranky pants on today, hmm?

I am about as cranky as a pig in s***. Just calls it as I sees it, Irish. Not my fault some seems to live in a Chimerical state and brandish fictitious nonsense due to their inability to read, but then again it is Zcythe, so what else is new.

So that's a yes to the cranky pants then. :-->:

Why are you even here. I would have thought you would be off playing the massively over-hyped Last of us (it is a good game) and joining in on the lavish man juice party in the PS4 section. :D

Does anyone know if Forza Horizon will have barriers like first one or like GTA/TestDrive Unlimited where you can drive anywhere on the map?

Irony at its finest, but then again it is Menace, so what else is new.

Stupid auto download didn't kick in and now I have a 40 gig download to deal with when I get home. On top of that, my donkeys joined a union. So it'll probably be the weekend before I get to join the lavish man juice party.

To anyone who shares games with their friends by using the "home console" method. Do you guys split the cost of the game between each other? How do you decide who owns the game?

Me and my best man just take turns buying. If you and whomever you are doing it plan on stopping in future then I suggest take turns splitting type of games.

Xbox One Now Available for Preorder in China

Gamers in China can now preorder the Xbox One exclusively through the website JD.com, according to a report from Reuters. On July 31, Xbox fans at Shanghai's ChinaJoy Expo will also be able to preorder the system at the JD.com exhibition booth.

China Telecom Corporation--the country's third largest telecommunications company--has an exclusive contract to sell the console to its 30 million broadband subscribers.

When contacted for comment, a Microsoft spokesperson didn't offer any new details, but said the company would be sharing more about its plans to launch Xbox One in China "soon."

Microsoft's system will be the first gaming console released in mainland China since the government banned console sales in 2000, due to concerns that video games could negatively impact mental health. The ban was lifted last September.

Upon lifting the 14-year ban, the Chinese government published a list of censorship rules for console games. For example, any games that "threaten China's national unity, sovereignty or territorial integrity" would be banned.

The Xbox One launches in China this September. Microsoft and China Telecom didn't include the price or exact release date of the Xbox One in China. However, the Xbox One goes on sale September 4 in Japan. In May, Sony announced plans to bring the PlayStation 4 to China, but no dates have been confirmed yet.

How long till there are knock-offs on every street corner and flooding ebay
