Welcome to what I was trying to say a few pages back.Double can mean a lot of things, and is EXTREMELY vague. Especially since NAVI is more efficient.
Is it 12TFs? 12 NAVI TF's is going to be more than twice as fast as Xbox One X's GPU.
See where I am going with this?
Welcome to what I was trying to say a few pages back.
Double doesn't mean 12 when he's saying double the power.
12TF's of RDNA 2 would be significantly higher than double the performance.
I think 12 is the goal but not confirmed because they haven't reach the goal yet...
I doubt they don't achieve this with all these sites claiming they did as added pressure.
“We wanted to have a dramatic upgrade from the Xbox One base console,” says Spencer. “So when we do the math, we’re over eight times the GPU power of the Xbox One, and two times what an Xbox One X is.” The Xbox One X is 6 teraflops of GPU performance, so the Xbox Series X could be capable of 12 teraflops. "If have $20 and I say I have double the money. Most would say that’s $40.

Notice I didn’t say 12. I only said double.Welcome to what I was trying to say a few pages back.

Two times the power is 490 watts. MS am kill the planet comferm.
We were just recently stating the difference between Sony's hardware-locked BC approach and Microsoft's software magic that turns old games into 4K/60 games. It's interesting that Microsoft's approach can go both forwards and backwards with the same game code. What's unclear, is just how Sony can put any upgrade paths into the older game software. I just don't see the upgrades being worthwhile, and they might as well just remaster them. For instance, I wish that I could get Horizon: ZD 4K/60 to just play right out of the PS5 box. This would be AMAZING! That's the kind of thing we've been getting with older games on XB1X. Kind of a shame if Sony can't do that without essentially remaking the game.It seems we only have to buy one copy to play on various devices.
If true this is huge for me and f00ked up on Sony's part if they don't match..ie if I buy TLOU 2 I shouldn't have to rebuy it again for PS5 enhancements.
Its all because of The Verge article and their headline tactics, imo. It has gone viral since the following...Ignorance is real
Purposefully not linking..."Microsoft says Xbox Series X won’t have exclusive first-party games at launch"
The Verge is absolute garbageIts all because of The Verge article and their headline tactics, imo. It has gone viral since the following...

This kind of headline has caused unnecessary confusion. In the actual article, of course they are talking about DROPPING a unique feature [FC] after a couple of years, not that there won't be exclusives... which now exclusives are defined to a single generation? It's just garbage reporting, and The Verge just hit rock bottom, imo. Reporting like this from a major new source just breeds more ignorance, imo.

I actually agree with both of you. What you are saying lines up perfectly with what Microsoft said about Xbox One X (Project Scorpio) being 4X more powerful than Xbox One. I also agree with Val, in that it's impossible to quantify what 2X actually means. It's just that I think here we have the Xbox team laying out a generalization of TF on purpose, just as they did last time, as they can't just say 12 TF until they release the full specs. Edit: and any bonuses from new architecture will just be icing on top.How much work can be done with each Tera Flop is a different discussion.
You can't advertise less than 12 TF's as 2 times XB1X especially when you're quoted saying "when doing the Math it is 2 times the XB1X".
The only math to be done is measured in TF's.
TF's is what was used to describe how powerful the XB1X and it is what Phil Spencer was referring to in that statement.
So you guys just need to do the math...

It's a yes and I suggest anyone who doubts this listen to there trusted DF who recently said this.

They need to advertise that more. Ryse was a missed opportunity to showcase the performance. TBH nothing really blew my socks off like Ryse this gen...Does Hellblade look like it's being held back?
Because if so, those second year exclusives should look ridiculous.
