Bringing Console Streaming to the Global Xbox Insider Community
We at Team Xbox are excited to start off 2020 with an important update to the Xbox Console Streaming (Preview)!
Xbox Insiders in all Xbox One-supported countries can try the preview and help shape the future of game streaming starting today. That means you can try out the Xbox Console Streaming (Preview)!
Xbox Console Streaming is our new system feature that enables you to play your owned and installed Xbox One games, including Xbox Game Pass titles, on your Android phone or tablet, streamed from your home console. We view the public preview as an important step in our journey to deliver game streaming to Xbox players around the world! We are learning from Xbox Insiders like you whenever you participate in these new technologies.
Team Xbox is pleased and encouraged by the response from those Xbox Insiders in the US and the UK who have participated since we launched in October. The community has provided invaluable feedback that has already improved the experience. And we’re continuing to roll out improvements over the course of the preview. In fact, Xbox Insiders joining us today will soon benefit from the latest improvements in an upcoming update. We look forward to receiving even more feedback from a broader set of players in a wider variety of environments from all over the world!
If you’re interested in joining the Xbox Insider program to help test the Xbox Console Streaming (Preview), you can find more information here.
How to Participate in Console Streaming (Preview)
Here’s what you need to know about the Xbox Console Streaming (Preview) to get started:
  • You must be an Xbox Insider, in a supported region, with an Xbox One console enrolled in an Xbox One Update Preview ringto participate in the preview. Additional requirements:
    • A phone or tablet running Android 6.0 or higher, with Bluetooth 4.0 (mobile data charges may apply)
    • A Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One Wireless Controller
    • A Microsoft Account with Xbox profile, and high-speed Internet (ISP fees may apply)
    • While not required, we recommend a controller mount for those gamers testing on a phone
  • Download the Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) app from the Google Play Store.
  • The app will guide you through setup on your enrolled Xbox One. This includes a test to ensure your home network, console and controller are ready for Xbox Console Streaming:
    • The network test ensures your console’s network connection and setup meet the minimum requirements:
      • NAT type: Open or Moderate
      • Upstream bandwidth: At least 4.75 Mbps required, 9 Mbps preferred
      • Network latency: 125 ms or less required, 60 ms or less preferred
      • Console settings: Power setting must be Instant-on
    • For help improving your console’s setup, visit the Xbox Support website
    • For additional support, check out the Game Streaming Support Hub, or visit the Xbox Insiders Subreddit
A sincere thanks to everyone who is helping us build Xbox Console Streaming. We are working closely with the Xbox Insider community to gather feedback that will shape and define future iterations of the technology.

This is kind of a random thought or question. But whenever you click on a video in the Xbox store, why does it show the Playstaion [ ] square button?

Would it be crazy to see them buy harmonix?
Not worth it. Harmonix already releases games on Xbox.
MS would be better off buying Platinum and From Soft. Some of their games don't release on Xbox.
That would give MSGS 2 very strong Japanese devs that they could expand on. At the same time Xbox won't miss out on any of their games and would also prevent Sony from buying them out. Win, win, win for MGS and Xbox.

They better not buy From Software

From Soft and Platinum make the most sense for MS because they are well respected Japanese devs that make games that sell well on Xbox.
The other Japanese devs or Pubs that make sense are too big to purchase without the Japanese government getting involved. Sega,
Capcom and Konami also make sense but the Japanese government won't allow a USA based company to purchase those huge historically Japanese companies.

Because MS don't use the big devs right.
I am anti-gamepass so that doesn't help.
Why would you be anti-gamepass?
Are you also against Capitalism and free markets?

Also MS not using the Big devs right was most likely a thing of the past.
Phil SPencer's XBGS will improve on this.

I like my freedom and I like owning my games.

I hope it's a thing of the past cause so much talents been wasted.

Game pass is awesome. And owning your games if you want to is awesome and still possible on Xbox.
Of course we still have the option to buy our games or else it would be suicide for the XB business.
Don't think for one second if this took the gaming scene by storm that MS wouldn't take away those freedoms.
We saw hints of this last gen with the attempt of blocking used games(blew up in there face) and kinect needing to be plugged in s***(didn't last long) they pulled in the beginning of the gen.

Nothing wrong with that!
Part of owning your games is the ability to lend them out or resell them.
MS learned the hard way in 2013 that consumers aren't going to give up their ownership rights when they're paying $60 a pop per game.
MS also understands that giving the consumer options is in their own best interest.
If you want to own your games no problem buy them out right. If you just want a Game Pass sort of rental service no problem either. For some they'll do both, discover new games on Game Pass (great for smaller devs) for a low entry price that won't hurt the pocket if you don't like the game and buy it out right if they really like the game.
Game Pass also means MS has to invest in a lot more genres to keep people paying the monthly fees.
Its a win - win for everybody involved.

When we get official specs for both consoles, I hope the pissing match can die down and we can talk about the tech and games.

Hi! Welcome to the Internet. Your sentiment was great, but it's wasted on the pissguzzlers and assgherkins who make up the Internet.

It’s not up to MS though. It’s up to the developers and publishers.

Yup even Phil Spencer said that he wants people to continue to buy games.

I love the new consumer friendly way.

If you remember when MS entered the console race, they had the money to buy Square but was afraid to do so because those people can leave the company and have MS with no one.

This is why MS is afraid to commit to Japan. You can see they want to but they would just do them dirty like always.

MS should do is built a new studio from ground up and make games for that platform and Windows only. With a money power they can get developers who are hungry to prove something to the world.

So we are on the 4 1/5 console generation.
How much longer is it going to take to do what you are saying?
Is this the right time?
