Looks like more and more is coming out. Not only was there still loading during the tech demo, the second half was scripted.

Yup. Instead of a 1.5 second load, it will be 3 seconds.

Man f*** that. If I'm getting 3 second loads next gen, I'm taking my gaming talent to Intellivision!

On a serious positive note, hearing really good things about DX12U. Night and day from DX during the launch of Xbox One. Tools are way better. When devs are allowed to start speaking on them, will probably hear good things about ease of development. Games like Assassins Creed may be struggling because they were built with the old toolset. Especially good for devs building cross-platform for PC and Xbox. They did a much better job streamlining development between the two platforms this time due to the fact that their 1st party will always be doing cross platform development. May translate to 3rd party next gen unlike this one.

Not sure if people ripping on 30fps have played consoles before? It's the standard for 3d games since the ps1. I'm not saying devs shouldn't aim for higher but imo (as been said before by many) it's definitely acceptable if they can tune up graphics higher.
Also, not being a PC gamer but I thought it was common knowledge that 30fps feels smoother on console than PC? There seems to be several reasons for this but I don't have time for the Google.

Controller vs k/m mostly. You feel the frames more when moving a mouse since your cursor moves much faster than what most people would attempt on a controller.

Friends.... I've been doing a lot this month to get points for my Microsoft rewards account... thought about redeeming a few dollars in gift cards to buy some games on sale.
Problem: when redeeming, they ask about a US phone number that they'll send a confirmation code to... living in Sweden makes that hard. Reason I don't use swedish rewards program is they don't reward for bing searches here.

Anyone willing to give me a phone number that I can send the code to (and give to me when received)?
PM me.

Also, didn't find the og xbox thread, sorry mods

How do you use the US rewards? It sucks not been able to get those sweet Bing points

Weird. On resetera, some peeps were saying that going between the rocks was the loading section.
While stuff like that can slow you down so the games has more time, it can also be used simply to provide variety in traversal or to give the sense of crawling through the cave. No way to know, really, but I doubt it was for loading.

I wonder if hell Blade 2 is using U5. Rendering seems similar
Didn’t Phil confirm that in his tweet on this page?
Would be nice, but it sure sounds like UE 4.25 to me. Notice that Phil just says they are using "Unreal".

Also, from Epic's official Unreal page:
Unreal Engine 4 & 5 timeline
Unreal Engine 4.25 already supports next-generation console platforms from Sony and Microsoft, and Epic is working closely with console manufacturers and dozens of game developers and publishers using Unreal Engine 4 to build next-gen games.

Unreal Engine 5 will be available in preview in early 2021, and in full release late in 2021, supporting next-generation consoles, current-generation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.

But he also says 'are excited to bring UE5 features to life.'
