PC is in trouble when these consoles release...Don't you already have a gaming PC?
You think so? Are you basing that on price to performance? I've never been a PC gamer so I don't now how willing that group is to switch to console. I know there will be PC's out there that are quite a bit more powerful than these consoles are (already are) but maybe the price to getting a PC that really does seem like a big jump will be cost prohibitive?

Yeah that's my hard limit for next gen but I really hope it isn't more than $499.
The new hard drive loading techniques will enhance gameplay not just load faster.
The PC devs won't be able to do the same as it would alienate most of the population which is already smaller in sales/userbase ie more console sales and people playing most if not all modern PC 3rd party games.
Maybe some companies will roll the dice and grab the select few who will have power to use these new loading techniques and say Fu to those who can't?
I seriously doubt it going into the next gen...

Yeah I've seen a few PC gamers say "what's the big deal? we've had SSD's forever" but it's not the same thing as a game being built by a dev who knows that the SSD will be there for sure, having it as an option with no real work done to take advantage of it vs a game being built around it from the start are two different things.

I think 500 will be the top price. Same thing was said about the xbox one x when it was revealed but consoles don't seem to sell well when you starting getting to the 600 mark.

They had one model that was $499, but the one with a decent sized hardrive was $599.

You didn't have to buy the $599 model and it's a false narrative when people try and say such.. It's been falsely done since it launched.
I'm hoping on different more expensive sku's at launch.

I'd say we have options if we want to spend more we can but it's X dollars for the console.
