To add on to my earlier statement, I feel like I speak for a lot of the community based on the narratives within Xbox Discords or threads the past couple years:

Xbox gamers want better 1st party quality. Many are tired of unfinished, broken and rushed games. Tired of uninspired sequels. Tired of investing in a story and then Microsoft dropping the franchise (as Yankeesuck said). We want to see games that work at launch and to represent the marketing or build up.

Worrying about the mix of new IP vs re-imaginings vs sequels...that's a conversation for later. They need to lay a solid foundation for their 1st party brand with quality first.

I feel they are on the right path. Now they have to give their devs the time to execute.

I've never started a petition for anything but if I ever did it would be a 'Can Aaron Greenberg pls stfu?" petition.

I generally agree with you but Benji is right. They need to keep reminding people that they got stuff coming until they show it. Unfortunately Aaron is that guy off the bench. Someone needs to train him in how to Twitter.

Ryse
Sunset Overdrive
Quantum Break
Recore
Ori

Great games with a lot of potential.

Only one of those got a sequel..and what a sequel it is. Xbox abandons new IP's way too soon and often. They're looking for hits, but for some franchises the second game could be that home run.

They fked up not making sequels to Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon and Alan Wake this generation. Those could've been staple franchises for Xbox next to Halo, Forza and Gears.

They are all third party games...except Ori, and Ori got a sequel. So, that explains that.

“Yes Digital only console.

MS will make up any losses they take by getting a higher cut of game sales and more subscriptions. Pricing also depends on what Sony does. MS doesn't have to go as extreme in pricing if sony prices itself higher. But from what I"ve heard from all my sources July isn't about sony , July is about the industry and they want it to be a night of mic drops . They are going to come hard with the strategy they have been building up to for years and they want google , amazon , apple , sony and yes Nintendo to shaken up . So expect a series of Mic drop moments followed by the price being the key part of all this.

I don't know all that they will show in July but I've been told that they are ramping up so that their xbox , xbox 360 and xbox one releases combined pale in comparison to what they have for this generation coming up. MS knows that there are alot of phones and tablets out there and xcloud is how the are going to make the costs of so much development make fiscal sense. There are about 5 more companies they are in talks of acquiring and after hearing about WB I reached out and it sounds like they are trying to make that happen but for them it would only make sense if the purchase comes with licenses for a certain amount of time for WB properties.

MS wants be what Netflix was 6 or 7 years ago when it comes to streaming and they don't want anyone to be able to snatch it away. I've said before that Nintendo is their main competition here. No one has more well known gaming ip than Nintendo. However Nintendo can never get its head out of its ass when it comes to virtual console and online. Sony has more content than MS in terms of games but sony doesn't really have the technology and would be years behind MS building it out. So now MS is about acquiring a lot of quality content for their platform.

I was told that a goal is to have an xbox studio game out every other month by the time the ball really gets rolling. Not A or AA games but AAA games every other month so that people don't stop subscribing.

That's why I think Lockheart is a key device in their strategy. Its low cost gateway that they can control to make sure the hardware can handle their new compression techniques they will employee with xcloud over the next few years. The plan for Lockheart is to get into price categories they were never able to hit before and I believe based on listening between the lines that they expect lockheart to at some point make it down to fire tv size . Also the size of the first lockheart will surprise everyone.“

I want a new Crimson Skies. They could turn this into an open world action adventure game so you spend half the game in the air and have on the ground. Upgrading your plane along the way. Imagine Crimson Skies meets Uncharted.

What if it used the flight simulator engine but stylized along the lines of sea of thieves?

I think MS knows what it needs to do. I think announcing new IPs is there closer. They've been slowing stopping the bleed the last few years with some great quality of life features while obtaining developers.

I agree, no new IPs will look bad for them.

I just don't see where they are going to come from. Any new exclusives they might be working on are likely years away. Hopefully the rumours are wrong and The Initiative have been working on a new IP and not PDZ.

I can’t recall how many more there may be but technically they have two that covers to memory, atm; everwild and project Mara, hoping to see more of both this year, maybe for whatever they wanted to show for games con.

Those are it. Project Mara seems a good ways off too. Ninja Theory seem to be ppigeon holing themselves with mental illness aswell.

They've always had an element of that in their games though. Starting back with Heavenly Sword, where her sister was kinda off. I think part of it is the acting challenge and the uniqueness that comes with those kinds of characters. They talk like they are doing some kind of ground-breaking awareness thing, but It's never manifested as much more to me than interesting narrative angles.

PS5's diskless version is very likely way more powerful than the puny 4TF Lochheart is why.
This other console announcement likely shook MS LH plans.
Nice try though.

I don't think it did. Lockhart is most likely going to Target a different audience, one that is much broader than and of those PS5 or XeX.

If everything we hear about lockhart is true is that it will target 1080p, then that is good news for MS and consumers. MS will be able to use all of the chips that were suited toward XseX and be able to use those in lockhart. Less wasted money.

But it seems like the primary factor now.

It seems like project Mara is supposed to be the awareness game.

Does anyone think the Xbox One will be discontinued? I can't see MS having an Xbox One S, Xbox One SADE, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S for consumers this fall. Brick and mortar stores won't want that.

It seems like with all of the sku's now hard to find, the Cyberpunk Edition sold out, and a 6TF Lockhart at a lower entry price, that it would be also redundant to have them on store shelves. I feel like MS is letting the Xbox One production trickle out.

It will be discontinued quietly. The One S will go first then the One X. I don't think it will be totally gone til at least the end of next year.

Some of theose skus being hard to find has to be Covid related as alot of electronics are hard to get a hold of right now.

The great part is that they can phase it out, replace it with a Series S on the shelves, and people who already have one can still play new games.

MS can never become the Netflix of gaming until all of it's services are available on all gaming platforms.
