I think this is the first time I've seen the Series X on it's side.
Did you read what you just quoted? And he said:
"So this idea that developers don't know how to build games, or game engines, or ecosystems, that work across a set of hardware... there's a proof point in PC that shows that's not the case. "
Has there been any info about when stores will start taking pre-orders?
Not only did I read it, but I quoted it. Embraced it. Made sweet love to it. Sideways.Did you read what you just quoted?
bit hypocritical. I guess it is consumer friendly and against what gaming is abut while it suits their business needs, but in 2 years when there platform can sustain Gamepass they just gunna be like, f*** it! Don't care about that now, and start giving generational exclusives again. So basically the MS studios will make one cross gen game each then turn to next gen only for future games. Sony normally wait for the install base to grow before releasing heavy hitters so I expect the first games on both consoles to be roughly on par for the first couple of years regardless.

Looks atrociousI think this is the first time I've seen the Series X on it's side.
Sounds hypocritical to me.Yep. That's not hypocritical though. It'll be a business move just like this one is. It's consistently about growing the business. They're just getting better at messaging is all. As consumers, should always focus more on the impact than the spin.
Regardless of their motivation, it's good to give the community time to cross over. There will be less than 5% of their base that will be able to cross over this year or early next. I like knowing that I can play with my friends until they have a chance to move over unlike this gen.
Sounds hypocritical to me.
Ofcourse it is just business. It's just business. When it no longer makes business sense (in a year or 2), they'll stop. On the flip side, Sony's spin is bulls*** too. "We believe in generational cut offs so we don't hold next gen back"....meanwhile Demon Souls is a remake of a of PS3 game, GT looks like a better looking and sounding current gen version of GT and Spiderman is a 2 year project meaning it's largely the same game engine. They're trying to force consumers to jump on their next gen hardware meanwhile Microsoft is trying to force consumers towards Game Pass regardless of where they are. Neither is a charitable approach. Both are trying to create the best games possible with massive investment to succeed at their business strategies.
It's friendly when you can move without losing anything. Starting from scratch and bring nothing after spending is bulls#it.Ofcourse it is just business.
But if you're siting there telling people you're consumer friendly because you're doing this thing, but then stop doing that thing in the near future, it is hypocritical. Infact, I'd say that is the very definition of hypocritical. Why you're saying it is irrelevant.
Essentially, what we are pointing out is businesses are full of s***.

Cheers, Cause my comment didn't start with, "ofcouse it's business."They're being consumer friendly by continuing to support the Xbox One and Xbox One X with 1st Party games for an extra year or 2.
That is being consumer friendly.
If they eventually stop it is not because they want to be anti consumer, it is because the economics behind supporting the older platforms just doesn't make it worth it anymore. In the end it is a business.
You wouldn't lose anything anyway. It's friendly when you can move without losing anything. Starting from scratch and bring nothing after spending is bulls#it.
Yeah, I'm just starting to wonder where I'l put this.... not sure it'll fit anywhere that looks okay in my living room lolThat's how I'm hitting it though.
Cheers, Cause my comment didn't start with, "ofcouse it's business."
Look at what you just said. It is consumer friendly until it doesn't work in their favour anymore. Which means it wasn't done for consumer friendly reasons in the first place. But they want it to look like they did it to be consumer friendly.
You're pointing out the motive to do something customer friendly isn't based on Xbox being a charitable group of people willing to look out for people at their own expense. Well no s***! Lol
Motive doesn't matter. This helps the majority of Xbox owners. I'll own Series X day 1 if I can get it. Most Xbox gamers won't. This strategy works out in their favor. It's consumer friendly to them. Nobody should make the case that any consumer friendly strategy from a mega corporation isn't rooted in pure business. Neither Sony nor Microsoft love you more. I get it. Its a business move. It can be a business move and still be customer friendly to most customers.
it will fit just fine, I just need to throw a few members of my family out of the house so I can have space.Yeah, I'm just starting to wonder where I'l put this.... not sure it'll fit anywhere that looks okay in my living room lol
Motive does matter.
