Fixed. As you can see @900p there's nowhere near the amount of blur that there's in that "NEW" screenshot.

it's so nice to wake up in the (late) morning and find out that the game i'm most hyped about is NOT in 900p but in fullhd... oh feels sooo good :D...
The old is prettier, the new, more realistic, and how often will we get that close to a legiony's belly button, anyway?

He says it has a frame buffer that is native 1080p. So it likely uses X1's display planes to take a rendered 900p frame and upscale it to 1080p to get free AA, the writes that to the frame buffer for output. DF couldn't notice it wasn't 1080p, nor could literally anyone else on the internet. So don't see the problem.

So, it's 900p internally rendered, but actually 1080p at the buffer?

So, if we were taking direct feed footage of the game, it would always be 1080p anyways I guess.

Either way, I will say 1080p to 720p, that is easy to spot in comparisons. However 900p to 1080p, I honestly have a hard time spotting the quality difference. I'm nit saying there isn't enough to warrant going for 1080p, but it is really close and since we're talking consoles, I'd take whatever gives adequate performance over resolution for a launch game.

However they've gone about it, I think it is easily the best looking launch game on either console.

That.

Ryse looks stunning.

Looking forward to hearing more from campaign and the quality of the plot.

Ryse does look awesome. Even at 900p it looks awesome. I honestly wouldn't know the difference between 1080p and 900p. That 180p gets me every time.

It is because you are obviously blind and uncultured.

that extra 180 means life or death man.. don't you get it

Well, it seems I will go through life, blind and educated. I imagine I should have known I was out of my league when I admitted that I couldn't tell the difference between 59fps and 60fps. Damn this internet!

don't worry, the internet is always here to remind you of your shortcomings :) You can't trust your own eyes, people will tell you how to see things.

Finally! Someone gets it! How any of us continue to dismiss this just destroys my faith in humanity! At this rate Sony won't even have to release the Ps4....just send me the paper specs. Damn the games mate! Damn em'!

It totally blows my mind when, on the other boards (not here yet) people tell me... No you will NOT like this game because of (insert reasons here). When Kinect came out, the other site was all "rabble rabble.. poor tech... rabble... no finger tracking... rabble"

Guess what? I use it for voice command stuff, and it is awesome. My kinds spend hours in front of it. Tell me again, how this is a failed device? LOL

You and I seem more and more cut from the same cloth with every post I read

One thing is for damn sure...1080p or not ( i bet we'll barely see the difference) this game is looking amazing. But i still fear that gameplay wise it will be rather simplistic...mostly just walking around and hacking and slashing. The dev DID tell me there would be exploration and climbing elements....but i am keeping my expectations low.

In the end, that will likely be the main downside... the gameplay. Unless you can instill the right amount of variety, it will kill the game.

My view is, a game is only as good as its gameplay, not the visuals.

Has anyone asked this guy when we will see something new from single player?

Right? They've really been keeping those details on the down low. My guess is that's not going to change.

I always find screens to be the worst way to judge graphics. I mean they choose the best shots to highlight their strengths. I mean those screens are meaningless in the sense that playing the game you are never going to inspecting the skin that closely in the middle of combat. To me the only screens I like to use as a gauge is the gameplay screen with all the hud and everything. That is what I will see as I play that is the image that matters.

In a way it sucks for the developer because of all the drama the focus on this game is all about minute differences in graphics which drowns out anything else about the game. One of the more legitimate knocks on the Xbox brand is their reliance on established sequels and not new ips. Here we have a studio taking a risk on a new IP and they seem to be swamped by negative press and rumors over resolutions. They've somehow become the litmus test for XB1. Given that games rely on those initial weeks sale it just shows why so many dev play it safe.

I do not know about you, but its a pretty significant jump in visual, particuly the skin. Its rather noticeable for me.
