Games With Gold

I gotta be honest. I'm kind of meh on the 360 side of offerings for GWG because I'm just not that into one of the games and already own one of them. I'd prefer Chariot myself this month.

I haven't tried Bad Company 2 yet because my Gold sub has expired.

This wasn't one of the games that EA has shut down the servers for is it?

I would expect MS to check this beforehand, though.

very happy with the free ONE games so far and long may it last in them keep offering new indies each month for free.

I couldn't get into any BC2 games either. I wish there was a way to reset my character.

We get the bitching every month. Hell some even go out their way to turn MS bundling free games with consoles as a negative.

Even with the VIP pass I still haven't been able to get into any games in BC 2.

Yeah neither can I. I think they turned it off.*

* found this at xbox.com/forums/battlefield bc2

downloade the VIP Pass from the Shop (its for free) after this scroll down in the ingame Shop and downloade the Multiplayer Update 3

yeah, something like that.
i know a lot of people who always hold off buying some games (especially small games) because of that.
de-valuation of games will hurt us gamers in the long run.

I think it is a double edged sword. I think it can hurt games like you suggest, but I also think it could breathe new life into an IP that has gone past its intial sales time period and spur some DLC sales. Also, it might just spur someone to pick up that developers' next offerring at launch because they liked the first game so much.

^ I was able to play a couple of games today.

The Multiplayer update 3 was around 1.64gb. I think it adds more maps.

It's funny, as much as I want GWG in theory, I've hardly played any of them (think I've beat like 2 of the games across both 360 and X1). It's not that I don't want to especially considering there are some good 360 games on there that I never played. Sure, if I gamed 3-4 hours a day, it would probably be different but I only game 1-2 hours a day on average so I generally stick to the newer stuff and am occasionally going back to my backlog. The "free" stuff takes a back seat in most cases.

At the moment, it's the same for me. I've barely touched Dishonored, Dark Souls, Monaco, and Gotham City Impostors. Not to say I'm not interested in them, but if something like the Blackgate Batman game on XBLA released for GWG, I'd be hyped up for that. I think lots of it comes from not even buying those games in the first place. Right now, the only new game I really want is Shadow of Mordor, but I just don't have the cash.

Definitely gave new life to Gotham City Imposters.

Are you automatically placed in Xbox rewards with gold status? If so the value is amazing, I just got 50 bucks back! I really cant complain if the free game is ever not to my liking. Combined it is just really a great deal.

how do you get $50 back???

Buying games digitally, some movies, and my achievements. Really nice surprise, I average about twenty a month, this was better. :)
Yeah the punches now are much better especially if you are going all digital and rent a lot of movies through Xbox Video. This will also increase your MyVIP level quickly such that you get eventually get 10% back on all purchases (if you remain Gold). Hard to take advantage of this now for me....I'm not going all digital (doesn't make sense for me from a price/trade-in standpoint) and I seem to watch less movies than ever. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to go all digital from a convenience standpoint but with programs like Best Buy rewards - Gamer Club Unlocked, it's hard to justify (all games 20% off; most games also garner a $10 BB GC if preordered...then I can trade the game in if I'm done with it/don't like it as much as I thought, etc.).

I think digital is best for me because I share games with my little girls Xbox.

What is the conversion from credits to microsoft points? I have 2100 credits currently, so how much money would that get me?

Edit: Nevermind, found it on the FAQ. That doesn't get me anything lol

1000 credits = $1

I didn't like the change over at first but the restructuring with MyVIP has really made this better. Of course it rewards those that spend a lot of money on the service more than those that don't....but that's generally what all rewards programs are about. I assume MyVIP stacks with MyAcheivements discount but not sure. Ultimately, if you get to the top MyVIP tier and have 75,000+ Gamerscore, you could get 13% back on all digital purchases in addition to the punchcard rewards. That's pretty good. Not as good as GCU 20% + $10 GC good but not too shabby. However, combining this with Bing Rewards (and cashing that in for Microsoft credit), then it becomes even better assuming you are making purchases with full/partial "free" money. Lot's of ways to save :).
