Of course the DNC was favoring Hillary, their job is to get Democrats elected and the person they felt had the best chance of helping get other Democrats elected was Hillary. She could raise more money and appeal to more independent voters. Do I see this as some big conspiracy to rob Bernie? No. She had a vast swath of Super delegates already anyways and still managed to win a lot more states than Bernie. The DNC didn't sway the primary election in Hillary's favor. And before I'm accused of being a shill for Hillary...I voted for Bernie in the primary and plan on voting for Gary Johnson in the general.
This race would be ten times closer if Trump had just kept his mouth closed the last month or so. Honestly, every time there was negative news about Hillary he would open his mouth and steal the negative spot light away from what should have been a bad day for her. He's his own worst enemy and he still doesn't realize it. He can blame the media all he wants but he keeps loading the gun with ammunition for them to use. The bottom line is, he failed to realized that the message he used to win the primary wouldn't work with independents.
Most Presidential candidates tend to attempt to move towards the center after a primary, Trump doubled down on his message and it turned millennials, women, and minorities off. Its got to be super frustrating for moderate Republicans to watch this guy destroy their party's reputation. But, you reap what you sow...the Conservative press has been pushing their base towards more and more extreme positions the past eight years and that allowed for someone with a message like Trumps to capitalize on the hate and fear they pushed.
