The Xbox Onesie

What is your original account name here?

I can see how you came to the conclusion of your list, with the exception of one. How does Xbox have the highest "volume" of games?

That's gonna make VaLLiancE pissy yet again.

Why? If it was 60fps I'd be pissed cause I already own the Pro version...
It looked almost identical with fake to real going by playing it on pro(fake 4k) and pc(4k)
Don't mention me like this anymore man or I'm blocking you.

Example

When battlegrounds is released eventually on PS4 you get to play the same game without missing content.

When I paid 60 dollars for Destiny a few years ago I had less content then PS4 owners who paid the same price. There is a huge difference. Especially when your not garunteed the content depending on how the game and studio are financially after release.

Imagine if that happened with Mass Effect. They pretty much stopped working on the game after the s*** show post launch.

It's a HUGE difference IMO.

Its really not. By that logic it would be better if Destiny launched later on Xbox.

I think playground just started working on that second IP. With their working relationship I'm sure Microsoft would have gotten first dibs to publish it.

Knowing MS, they passed on it "because we feel it didn't offer anything new to our portfolio at the time", only to have it turn out an excellent franchise.

If that's the case and I highly doubt it is, then Microsoft might want to invest heavily in epic single player games. Because the way I see it, Sony is kicking Microsoft's ass this whole generation so far.

If those are the specific and only games you care about, I see how you'd feel that way, but there's a laundry list of things MICROSOFT has destroyed Sony on this generation, and that laundry list FARRRR outweighs that one shortcoming in my opinion.

When you take all of the ID@Xbox games, the first and third party X1 games, the list of backwards compat games - Xbox One owners have a longer list of titles to choose from than Sony owners.

I know that was true at one point, and I think it's still true.

Depends. Playground are indeppendant and I would imagine they would want to broaden there consumer base at some point.

Well something is going wrong then cause so far Sony is bending Microsoft over the table and ramming it hard.

Now don't get me wrong... I love my Xbox and will be getting Xbox xoxoxox day 1.

I think MS is happy that their X1 is doing better than the 360.

Timed exclusive content=bad but timed exclusives games=good?

It's different with Indies. Most Indies can only afford to get their game out on one platform at a time so whoever gives them the most help/push/marketing/development money will get the game first. That's not a bad thing. With AAA games, any exclusive is a result of Microsoft or Sony paying them to withhold content.

I find the two situations completely different. In one situation, you're helping smaller developers grow which is good for the industry. Money hating AAA developers is wasted resources. You're paying them to not make something. That's destructive...unless it's a Tomb Raider or Street Fighter situation where the publisher may not have developed the game otherwise. Even in those situations I'm skeptical of the reasoning.

I know Microsoft did that a lot last gen and I found it crappy and bad for the industry then as I do now.

is it? What are and when were the last official numbers.

MS tracks success by number of monthly active Live users and its annual growth. Last I read, that was 55 million users, up 17% I believe from the previous year's same period.

It's not a surprise, given that during development even loading a map in their level editor was a process that required eight hours.

Their engine doesn't help you are right but again the vast majority of games will have target 30fps on X1X if they do on One S, the bump from a 1.75 to a 2.3Ghz isn't enough to double a framerate when in most games the framerate is tied to CPU. What will happen is games that struggle to hold a solid 30 on the base console will be a solid 30 on the One X.

But that wasn't what he was on about.

55 million. That means there are far more 360 gamers than X1 gamers.

In all seriousness, does Microsoft have any 1st party studios outside of Rare? I truly don't know. I would Google it but I'm at work and my employer blocks that stuff.

Isn't 343 and whoever makes Gears first party studios?
