Your Mom's convoluted.

The loot and stuff is all fine and good, but there has to be some story or quest line to keep me interested.

There is no need for more than one currency. They do it to break it up and make it more grindy.

Doesn't really make it convoluted, though...and technically, the different currencies are designed for different things. This is where the need is, if you just have legendary shards then you would have to scale back legendary drops. You still end up with the same grind but get a lot less for it.

Therefor, we have tokens to balance out the economy and grind.

So no, it is needed in this game.

So, any good guns out there that might be "hidden gems"? I'm finally going through my vault a bit and seeing what might be decent other than the meta (especially for pve).

I'm liking the Call to Serve kinetic scout. Has triple tap (which I love in pve). Maybe not as good as Nameless Midnight but I get sick of using that.

MIDA Multi Tool is a pretty badass kinetic scout rifle. It increases movement speed and has its own radar that stays active while ADS. It just takes a long time to get.

Martyrs Make is an energy Auto Rifle that's been good to me for a long time.

Nope. There are no hidden gems.

Decent weapons you might not have are the FWC Pulse Rifle, Hand Cannon, Auto Rifle.

Sweet Business Auto Rifle.
Rat King Exoctic Side Arm.
Sunshot Exotic Pistol.

Mannanan Energy Scout.
Mida Minitool Submadhine Gun.

The Iron Banner Submachine gun and Auto Rifle are ok.

I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain why there's no lore in D2. :)
I get it, but I'm just saying. Sure the loot is cool, but there's not enough variety in it. And I'm not asking for the lore. Just some fetch quests or some war time hub bub that you intervene in and not the public events.

I know I won't get that and I'm long past getting back into it. But when I see all the different and improved ways to get loot, I kinda just shrug at it. But that's me.

I'm with you, I was really disappointed the game didn't answer any of the questions from the 1st one. Instead we get a "look, bad guy, shoot him" with some humor thrown in.

I really don't give two s***s about story in this game. I just want to shoot bad guys and get loots.

Well it is supposed to be a loot game.

These things are built into the game and there for you to enjoy at your hearts content. Fetch quests are patrol missions, and your war time hub bub are adventures, lost sectors, Strikes, public events and the awesome "enemies are moving against each other.

This has to be your dream game, surely.

I think you mean 'shoot the bad guys and get a token.'
No I mean exploring an area and see a Public Event with one Guardian going at it by himself. I jump in to help him out but things get bad pretty quick. We both manage to trigger the Heroic Event, then a yellow barred boss appears and things get worse. Just when we think it's a lost cause, a group of three more Guardians suddenly appear like f***ing super heroes and we all take out the boss within seconds. Then we're all awarded with a legendary engram and maybe an exotic.

Moments like that might not be about loot, but the teamwork and sudden rush of total strangers coming in to turn the tide of an intense battle. That's what makes this game fun to me.

If that only happened anymore, maybe if the PE were randomized and not broadcast before hand, now it's just guardians piled up at PE spawn points in the moments before they start

Which is how it is meant to be.

The issue is the PEs are way too easy. You can solo them without much trouble. So, having 3+ guardians just trivialises them.

Enjoy?! It starts to become work when you are defending a public event for the 30th time. And the variety of loot is small. I can say that compared to D1.

I want to see pockets of survivors popping up where the rebellion has made a difference. Maybe they'll need saving again. Maybe more random encounters.

They can be solo'd until Heroic Event gets triggered. Then you're f***ed.

Public events were always on a timer, you just had to use a 3rd party tracker in D1.

I'm hoping the heroic strikes are fun. Playing the strikes in D2 is actually more fun than 1 in my opinion. There's just no reward for them, but they are fun to play anyway.

Rewards are fine for me. Seeing all the engrams rain down out of a chest at the end is quite pleasing.

My biggest issue is the stupid amount of duplicates I get from one vendor. I did all three Meditations the other day and I got the same piece of armor twice. She has a badass armor set and all I got was two of the same warlock bond and some tokens. I hope Bungie keeps their word and fixes that crap.

They need more loot and different rolls for the guns.

I plan on returning soon but its current state is bad much better than d1 was dec 2014 but still bad.

My big beef is that even at 305 stuff still drops 295 for me. While it is easy to hit 305, it is a grind to get a lot of infusion material.

At this point I'll just wait for the level cap to jump but it is super annoying. 298-99 would be just as useless but 295 is just annoying.
