Why would anyone pay $70 for this when the controller was discontinued because no one liked it. Also why can’t MSoft fix the One controller? The drift problem and the headset jack are beyond horrible.
Because those aren't problems for everyone. I can't even begin to imagine what you mean about the audio jack.
Funny you mention stick drift because OG Xbox S controllers were very susceptible to this, I must have gone through a dozen of those things, yet I still have my original Duke.

That's strange man. I used to switch between headsets and headphones all of the time on all of my controllers until I just got my wireless headset last month. No issues with that.

Yeah I thought it was totally odd as well. Of all things to break I would never guess it would be the audio jack. The Xbox headset jack works fine though.
wouldn't that apply to both systems though? Xone is certainly not giving me "True 4k gaming without compromise" as promised by MS
1800p still makes a huge improvement on a 4k tv
doesnt have to be true 4k. 1440p and 1080p is not good enough on 4k set!
You're forgetting about the great triggers and the amazing right thumb stick..............and that was about it.
Its got more true 4k games than not and in some cases it's down to the devs rather than the console.
Honestly a true 4K machine is a machine where every game is going to actually be 4K, until that point comes calling anything a true 4K machine is wrong. Calling it 4K capable is fine, calling it true 4K is just not being honest. Saying "well it up scales from a higher res than the other one" doesn't make the 4K claim true, it just means one machine is stronger than the other.

xbox one X does, ps4 pro doesnt majority of the time, there is no discussion here... my only point was ps4 pro being advertised as dynamic 4k machine is false at this point
It's no false at all, all sports games are 4K, some older titles are 4K, there are CB games that come very close to looking native 4K. I get the point that sadly a lot of 3rd parties are going the easy quick route of just upscaling from 1440p instead of taking advantage of CB but I'm guessing that's just a financial decision based on the fact that so many more people will be playing on a standard PS4. The One X should be advertised as a dynamic 4K machine for sure, many of the games that hit 4K are dynamic resolution, we also get upscaling from 1800p and sometimes lower. I think calling them both dynamic 4K machines is truthful, one is just newer and more powerful so it is capable of more that's all.
all i will say is, i have a 4k tv, xbox one x and a ps4 pro... sharpness wise XOX wowed me many many times on my tv but ps4 pro really only wowed me on horizon zero dawn eventhough i bought all my games there for a year
its just not a great machine to enjoy a 4k tv, so in my experience it is wrong to call it any kind of 4k machine, the fact it doesnt have 4k blu ray just makes it worse

You are spot on. I too own both . One of the best test would be to load up fortnite . It’s free on both . Right off the bat, where you parachute in , it’s night and day as far as how much more detailed the buildings and textures are from that high in the air .
Disagree. You mean for YOU and a few others, a true 4K machine would deliver all 4K games and content.
By definition, the X is accomplishing more 4K games than any other console on the market. That is a 4K machine - especially when the competition can't deliver it. You set the standard. X, does that.
It's not about the competition it's about what the console it's self produces, the power isn't there for current games to be 4K all the time so neither machine is a true 4K machine. The One X is more powerful and nobody disputes that but the fact is other than 1st party games almost all others are dynamic resolution, that's totally fine because a true 4K console would cost more than $500 right now, it's a great value for what you get out of it but it's not a real 4K console. If your definition is "a console that can make 4K games" than both the Pro and the One X are 4K machines as both do have native 4K games on them, I don't consider either one a true 4K machine but they are nice upgrades to hold us over until true 4K can be achieved by all games on a console that can be released at a price people can afford.
I wish they would have shown what the update enhances. Oh well, I guess we'll see soon enough.
Ok, so by your definition of a "true 4K machine" defined by "until true 4K can be achieved by all games on a console that can be released at a price people can afford", I guess we have never really had a true HD console yet, as 1080p has not been hit all of the time by PS4, let alone Xbox One. There are plenty of dynamic and sub-1080p titles on both.
I guess maybe in your eyes, it took these 4K capable consoles to meet the HD era standard, right? ...even though it does 4K and everything in between. That makes this the 1080p era, then? That seems illogical to me.
I'd say the jury is still out on the X (since you can still small the paint drying), but the 360/PS3 almost NEVER hit 1080p natively, while their successors had a much better go of it. In fact, I'd say this new half gen or whatever is a role reversal of a pretty close proximity to that, so far.
The vast majority of PS4 titles are 1080p and yes some are dynamic and a few are 900p but those games are the exception not the rule and ALL PS4 Pro titles are at least 1080p as it is mandated, native 4K at all times is not the vast majority of One X games so it's kind of a silly comparison to make. You could make it with the Xbox One if you want, that console had a lot of games that were 900p and some that were 720p.
The jury is not out on the One X, we know it's going to get a mix of native 4K, dynamic resolution, checkerboard rendering and also games that are just up scaled from other resolutions. It's not a knock on the machine it's just the reality of where we are when it comes to tech that can be put into a console. The One X is never going to be an always 4K machine and that's fine, it's still the most powerful console you can buy today.
