I just played 5 straight matches of the new 50v50 LTM.

The good: It's better than version 1.

The bad: This mode is trash. I have no idea how people enjoy this. It basically eliminates any tactical element from the game, which is basically the sole reason why we play.

The only way this mode becomes relavent is if/when they add proxy chat to the game. You got to be able to coordinate with the pack you're traveling in.

Also, the new gun seems to suck. Hopefully this is the darkness right before the dawn in terms of excitement with the game.

So there's a 99.9% chance this marks the arrival of Fortnite in China. Which means Epic is going to announce laughable popularity numbers at E3.

But there is a .1% chance that Jonesey represents us, and we're getting a brand new map soon!

570k viewers watching Fortnite on Twitch right now. The game is just dipping its toes into esports with this event. Such a good watch with the commentary and stage.

Blizzard be like "Oh ****" right about now.

If anyone has a passing interest in esports tune into this right now! Holy **** this is amazing. Such a perfect game for esports. You don't even have to play Fortnite to feel this!

644k peak viewers on Twitch for this event.

If anyone wants to make some money, invest in esports. These numbers are going to look paltry a year from now.

Edit: The peak is now 674k

Edit 2: It just cracked 700k

Ok, so I played some PUBG hoping it would be as good as Fortnite minus the fort building aspect.

Turns out Fortnite is superior.

PUBG seemed kind of bad but maybe that's just on Xbox? Bad graphics, bad frame rate, hard to figure out how to do anything controls wise in inventory etc.

Fortnite is just way more polished IMO.

I'll have to have another go with the building aspect of the game.

I managed to come in 3rd today! my best yet.

my strategy is to find a weapon then hide in buildings and not make any noise by moving.

yeah, I'm pretty bad at this game but slowly getting better, soon I'll be building forts and everything!

If anyone missed it, here's a little bit of what Fortnite esports will look and sound like. (4 players left)

The main takeaway here is that unlike Overwatch and League of Legends, non players can follow along easily. All while being much more interesting to watch than Street Fighter and Counter Strike. This is going to be big folks.

"Sticking it's landing" is not a coincidence.

We're either getting the Jetpack tomorrow or something big is happening with the comet/ufo.

Looks like the "sticking it's landing" wording is in reference to the Clinger Grenade. It'll be interesting to see if it works like the C4 (triggerable) or if it just explodes at a set time after it attaches to a surface. It'll be so much more fun if you can trigger the explosion.

Also, a bit of esports news...

This is Godzillas head just breaching the surface of the ocean. This will be the biggest esport within a year.

I finally unlocked John Wick this past weekend. Wasn't sure if I'd get there or not.

I don't know about easier. The skill floor is much higher than PUBG.

Speculation that Epic is going to add a box consumable, aka Metal Gear Solid, to hide in the hot zones with (based off this tweet). I could see it happening.

I think it’s easier than PUBG for a newcomer.

I guess it depends on your definition. It's more welcoming to new players in a sense because the matches are shorter and there's more constant action but in PUBG less skilled players have more opportunity to kill high skilled players.

Season 4 is live.

I think I like the map change but it's still early. Gives us more gameplay variety which is always a good thing IMO.

However, the Orange Shirt Kid, who didn't come close to winning the Boogie Down Challenge, got adopted by the Fortnite community and Epic decided to put his dance in the game. Epic had to make this kids day today.

That’s awesome. My son is great at doing the Fortnite floss.

The Replay Royale contest winner just got announced. It's a fan made video contest where players use the built in replay mode feature. Here it is...

The “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup” mode for Battle Royale will feel just like a standard slugfest — with one major difference: One hundred players will descend upon the map and fight until one player is left standing, as usual, but this time you’ll do so with the Infinity Gauntlet in play.

The artifact containing all six Infinity Stones — the same one Thanos used to cripple Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the big screen — will appear on the map. Whomsoever finds and equips it will transform into Thanos himself, wielding all the power that comes with him.

Marvel does nothing for me but I know this board goes crazy about this kind of stuff. With that being said, I love the mechanic here. I've often thought a "one ring to rule them all" concept would work really well in Fortnite.
