I'll tell you something I don't like about this game, every f***ing time I fire it up there's a multi GB update required.
Every single time. Last one was 9 GB and just fired it up now, only just over 1 GB so that's nice I guess.....
I'm just saying it's annoying to try to play a game casually here and there like that.
To me this is the type of game I want to have a quick go before going to work for example. Well this update every time cancels that out I can't play anything now.
This game is growing on me. Was playing last night and came in 3rd on solo with 3 kills. I stood back on the side of a mountain watching the other two build like crazy taking shots at each other. Finally their attention moved to me.
I like the shooting, I just can’t stand the building aspect of the game. Maybe it will just take time to get use to it.
Played a couple squads with randoms and kept getting dumba** teammates. I need to catch some of my buddies when they’re on.
For context, David Price won the Cy Young award (pitcher of the year) in 2012. This is one of the best pitchers in baseball, on one of the biggest professional teams on planet earth, wilting to the blazing hot beauty known as Fortnite Battle Royale.
Chelsea Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois...
GotY.
GotG.
I don't understand the obsession you have with the popularity thing. Does it make you enjoy the game more? I comes across as a need for validation. Who cares if a celebrity likes a game?
The culture is fascinating to some. Sucks that you feel defensive about it. Enjoy!
Defensive? Why would I feel defensive, and what about? I see a lot of posts about popular opinion as if it has anything to do with actually playing the game other than you will have full hoppers. I get the overwhelming impression that you are on an almost cult-like recruitment effort. The game is not having issues with player numbers. I just think it's weird that you are so adamant in your pursuit of converts, and you are trying using the bandwagon effect to do it.
Have you played it?
Nope, and I have no interest in it either. I've never made a value judgement on the game outside of saying I don't care for the pace or aesthetic. I've certainly seen enough footage to understand what it is about.
I didn't get into Overwatch for much the same reason, and I suspect those players are all on the Fortnite bandwagon as well. They were likely the same Hordes in Destiny and COD before that. I'm good.
When I was a child my mother used to ask me "Why don't you at least try (insert foreign food here)?" To which I responded with "Mother, I don't like how it smells."
Oh to be a child for even one more day!
Ooh, that's subtle! It's so cute how smart you think you are!
But seriously. As adults, we can garner enough experience to know whether we want to bother with something or not. I wager I'd enjoy myself for a bit then drop it as I don't care for MP much (I don't play Pubg much either even though I do like the intensity and realistic ethos). I'm sure the game is great in it's own capacity as it is obviously resonating with people.
Is anyone interested in a UVGF Fortnite Friday? Based on the activity in this thread I would guess not.
But either way I will be hosting an open lobby this Friday night on X1. Join up if you feel like playing.

Why would you be proud? You one one of the dev's, or something?According to Superdata...
Fortnite made $296 million dollars (all platforms) during the month of April.
Fortnite made $223 million dollars (all platforms) during March.
Fortnite made $126 million dollars (all platforms) during February.
The crazy thing is that May is going to crush April considering the season 4 Battle Pass went on sale May 1st. We're fast approaching 1 billion dollars. I couldn't be more proud.
